Our miniature schnauzer developed bladder stones that did not dissolve with medical therapy, so he eventually required surgery. Trupanion covered 90% of all the medical AND surgical treatment, INCLUDING 50% coverage of the expen$ive prescription dog food. They respond quickly to previously approved covered conditions and the reimbursement arrives in a timely manner. It does take a little while initially for them to obtain all your vet records and approve an initial claim (some vet offices are unresponsive), but if you help them out by getting vet record copies yourself and emailing them to the company, they accept them and it greatly expedites the process.

Our 80 pound labradoodle stopped eating, was vomiting, and had diarrhea for about a week while the vet was trying to figure out the issue. After 4 vet visits and almost $2000 spent he was finally doing much better. We submitted the claims and were covered to the maximum extent of our plan and got the checks in the mail within a few days. We forgot one form and they emailed us right away so we could send it back and recieve our full reimbursement. Couldn't have picked a better insurance company.

The Insurance company Rep said that they take all of the costs from Vets and adjust them according to their own stated prices minus my deductible. I was paying over $100.00 per month for two dogs and I couldn't believe it. I spoke to my Vet and they recommended Trupanion. Several months after switching pet insurance companies, my dog had been dx with diabetes and Trupanion has assisted with the financial burden without re-rating Vet cost. I paid my $100.00 deductible once and they paid 90% without adjusting the Vet cost. Without Trupanion, I am certain that i would not have been able to afford his care for life. Took a week or two for my dog's medical information to be processed, however, now i just take a claim form to my Vet who faxes it to the Trupanion. Within two days, my claim is processed and i am reimbursed right into my checking account. Without Trupanion, I do not know if i would be able to afford my dog's diabetes treatment for life. I am very thankful for their help! Their customer service is also excellent too!

We have 2 elder cats who have had urinary problems, lymphoma, pancreatitis etc. and have carried ASPCA insurance for over 10 years to get some relief from the exorbitant veterinary bills. While we would have liked full refunds, which is an unreasonable wish, ASPCA insurance did cover some of the costs without giving us any problems.

Embrace is the only pet insurance to use! I let our vet know and am always repeating that whenever I am in their office! After putting our first dog through chemotherapy in early 2000s, my husband and I knew that moving forward, we must get pet insurance. At the time, there were not many on the market and choosing the most reliable one. After several years of using that one, we started a savings account instead, which would be specifically for our dog and veterinary costs. We had done the math and found that we really were not saving any money and it would not cover any big surgeries, after reading the fine print! So, why bother? Then we found Embrace insurance! I can already say that within the year and a half that we have had them for both of our dogs, 5 and 10 years old, we have already saved money! When choosing Embrace, and using the comparison tables on the other well known pet insurances and what was covered with costs, etc., it is a no-brainer! I have had great customer service with Laura Bennett and Amanda Collins. Thank you! Also, I am in school to be a Veterinary Technician and devote my life to dogs and animals in general and have done extensive research into pet insurance and know for a fact that I am experiencing the best possible deal! :)

I took the Embrace policy out when we adopted our greyhound based on generally good reviews. It seemed okay until we adopted our second dog, a mixed breed. Both dogs are young and full of energy and like to play fight(as all my dogs over the years have done). During one of these playful moments, the greyhound got a bit carried away and accidentally bit the mixed breed. It was a small wound, nothing terribly serious, but my wife took the mixed breed to the vet to get some antibiotics and one stitch. Embrace declined the claim based a pre-existing condition of aggression on the mixed breed because the vet used a muzzle to take blood at some point in the past. First of all, it was the Greyhound that bit the mixed breed, not the other way around. Second of all, in addition to the greyhound, the mixed breed lives with two cats and two kids. There is no way we could have an aggressive dog in our house. Clearly this was Embrace's tactic to get out of the claim. When challenged about it, they told me to fill out MORE paperwork for an appeal. That's when I canceled the policy.

Covers many areas that could become a problem with my puppy in the future. Reimbursement check came fast.

They are very easy to get in contact with, provide great assistance and answer all the questions in a very pleasant and professional manner. They work fast with analyzing the claims and provide timely updates along the way. Overall very happy to be working with them!
