I am thankful for my ASPCA Pet Health Insurance!

In May 2010, my cat Jack was diagnosed with Diabetes Mellitus. Getting ASPCA Pet Health Insurance with Continuing Care for Jack was the best thing I did in 2008, when I originally found out about pet health insurance. Now, Jack is happy and healthy and I am submitting regular claims for his treatments. Over the past year, I've found that having a pet with diabetes is expensive, even more because I have other pets who also need to see the vet. The ongoing veterinary expenses piled up quickly and were threatening to become a financial burden. Luckily, I had pet insurance for all my cats. Between his blood tests and the cost of a three-month supply of insulin and syringes, I ended up paying around $650 for Jack's first two visits to the vet. In addition to these expenses, I found out I would have to take Jack in for monthly blood tests and I would have to by insulin every three months. All told, I spend approximately $150 per month to treat Jack's diabetes. Without ASPCA Pet Health Insurance, Jack's diabetes diagnosis would have forced me to make some difficult financial decisions. While Jack's blood tests and insulin are certainly not cheap, recouping a percentage of my out-of-pocket expenses has been critically important for my finances. Very pleased with Healthy Paws

I have been a pet owner for 27 years and never bought pet insurance. In May one of my dogs suddenly became ill and died after valiant (and expensive) effots to save her. I decided to buy pet insurance to help defray the costs of another like event. I read online reviews and discussed the topic with my vet and selected Healthy Paws. I opted to enroll my two young rescue dogs, one I had for less than a month. The coverage kicks in 15 days after enrollment. On day 16 one of my dogs became ill and required two trips to the ER within 24 hours. The cumulative total for both visits was right at $1000. I followed the very simple claims filing instructions, asked my vet to submit his full medical record (first claim) and sign the forms. I filed the claims and made a follow up call to the Customer Service group to verify they had what they needed. Within 9 days I received, via email, the explanation of benefits for both claims, paying every eligible dollar! I am a healthcare administrator and I couldn't be more impressed with the process or the customer service reps I dealt with over the phone.

Very Positive in the past 3 years

Easy to submit claims (fax) and quick reimbursement (usually receive reimbursement checks minus deductibles always arrive within 1 week or to 2 weeks after the claim form is submitted). Example: One of our dogs was stunk by a bee when we were out of town. We found an pet emergency center and the claim went through without quickly. We got the reimbursement within a week. Policy is straight forward and easy to understand. Their staffs are also extremely friendly. Note: I don't have the routeine care coverage for both of my dogs.

Pets are part of the family

We got this insurance for our pug just incase she ever needed anything in the future. You insure your children and treat your pets as part of your family...so why not insure them also? It just made sense to me. I've only used the coverage for small illnesses so far but it was a great help to get reimbursed so quickly. My dad recommended the insurance to me and I would recommend it to everyone!

Very happy with Embrace experience

Started with Embrace after a rather horrible 12 months period with my three dogs. It has functioned as I had hoped. Mostly I have paid the premiums and not put in claims. But...when I have had to put in claims I have been very pleased with my experience. Sometimes it seems like I've had to do lots of paperwork but this was just because on the initial claims for a dog, you are asked for more. I am very appreciative that Embrace covers hereditary conditions. I have cavalier king charles spaniels which are prone to mitral valve disease and had few choice in companies who would voer this.

This Insurance is a Major Rip Off!!

I had this insurance for six years for my dog. When I first got it, the premiums were reasonable and the coverage was excellent, but they slowly raise the premiums and lower the coverage to next to nothing compared to other companies. I'm fortunate in that I've only had to use this policy once and then it was for something very minor that I could have paid for out of pocket on my own. For what it's worth, I did get reimbursed fairly quickly for that claim. I only realized how badly I was being ripped off when I got a second dog and started revisiting the coverage and comparison shopping. The premiums had almost doubled from when I gotten it six years ago, and the coverage had been reduced to about 10K per incident or something like that. I found a new company after researching the options on this site. I was able to insure both of my dogs for the same premium I had been paying for my six year old with no annual, per incident, or lifetime limits and 90% coverage. This company has already milked me for hundreds of dollars. I am just thankful I realized it before my six year old got seriously sick or injured.l

Worth every penny!

I got this after hearing about it from my vet and within a couple of weeks my puppy got sick and the bill added up to $1000+. Recommended to anyone who has a pet.

We have had 2 claims over $4000 in one month....Pets Best payed 80% of it within 10 days! Minimal paperwork.
