A lifesaver for both our dogs!
Healthy Paws has been amazing for our two dogs. They are easy to work with, quick to let us know what's covered and very quick to mail checks to us. Almost everything, except for a few pre-existing conditions, has been covered. Having insurance has created such peace of mind when our dogs get sick. Our one dog needed an MRI recently and it was so nice to know that we could afford to do it. Also, the app and website are so easy to use and they will even email to check in and see how our pups are doing!

I have had this insurance since my cat was 2. Never any claims but always paid my monthly payments for coverage. My credit card company that was on file was changed due to a buy-out. I got my new card, activated it. however, My old card was to be good for another month. I tried to call also because they said that my account was past due. My older card is still in effect until next month. There is no reason for it not to be paid. I was on the wait for 2 hours to talk to someone and never got thru. What is this? I am questioning whether I should keep this insurance. I have never let it go past due at any time. This is frustrating. Covid or no Covid there must be someone to answer the phones. Online is not always the answer. Customers need to talk to someone when it is necessary.

We feel secure and confident with Healthy Paws Insurance!
We signed our puppy up for Healthy Paws insurance after switching over from another insurance company. We made the switch because Healthy Paws was much more affordable for basically the same coverage. We were also referred by a family member who has had great experiences with Healthy Paws while her pet has been very ill. We just submitted our first claim with Healthy Paws after our dog had some serious tummy issues that resulted in a $1,000+ bill. It was SO comforting to not have to think twice about giving the vet the OK to run the necessary tests when our pup was ill. Since we had Healthy Paws, we knew we would be able to cover the bill. After submitting the claim, we ended up being reimbursed in about two weeks. This was our first claim which typically takes longer to reimburse so we felt really happy with the quick turn around. Really happy with the choice we made with Healthy Paws!!

Worst insurance company
Save your money and buy your pet insurance else where. This is by far the worst insurance company. I recently had to file 3 different claims for the same bill because they just let the claim sit and let it expire. They are just constantly asking for medical records even if you submitted them already claiming they don't have it and need more information. It takes more than 30 days process the claim no matter how small the amount is. If you email them you don’t get a response which means you have to call and talk to different reps every single time. Today I got an email from them saying they are increasing the premium from 26 to 86 bc I apparently enrolled my dog as a mixed breed instead of French bulldog which i never did. Its hard to believe they are just finding about this after all this time given my dogs complete medical records from the primary vet at the time of enrollment back in 2019? I will be terminating the policy with them and I hope no one else goes through what I had to go through. Just awful!

*Update: have now cancelled my policy I have had Trupanion for 2 years. My rate has gone up each year. When you sign up they will tell you that you’re “locked in” to that price. What you’re actually “locked in” to the price offered for the age of your pet but it may go up every year. I was told data was collected to determine rates but they could not provide me with any specifics on data collected but I could obtain it from my state’s insurance commission. Now I’m being told the data is proprietary and I would not be able to obtain it. I’ve been told something different from the initial sales agent, customer service representative and now a manager. If I had to do over would not have chosen Trupanion. Have a friend who is very happy with Nationwide Pet Insurance and wish I would have further explored that option. Why don’t I switch? Now issues that taken place would be considered a pre-existing condition with another company.
