Pleasantly surprised!

We have never had pet insurance in our 35 year marriage, until 3 months ago after adopting another kitten. We have had a total of 4 cats in 35 years and until our third kitten, all had been healthy and lived 14 plus years. But last December we adopted our little angel Bruce Wayne. We had just lost another angel "Sammy" to a stroke at 17 years old. After only a week I knew I was ready and we got Bruce. He was a special needs kitten as they told us. He had been to 2 shelters and had been treated for everything imaginable. At the time of adoption he was in treatment for Ringworm, but 10 days later we found out that he had not been contagious at the time of adoption...yay! But that exhilaration was short lived. He was in the vet for his well kitten check-up and the doctor heard a heart murmur, then noticed his fur on his ears and belly were sparse. She decided not to worry, as he had just finished 6 weeks of oral meds and shampoos for the fungus. He also had been sneezing and had the occasional cough. The cough did concern her, as he was a short hair and didn't shed. After many visits over the weeks and months that followed, he had been diagnosed with Asthma and allergies to environmental things. He was happy and energetic all the while, so I thought we were going to be okay! He had been put on a gel form of prednisone for the itching due to his allergies, and his fur came back in thick on his belly...not so much on his ears. He had been on the ear gel for a couple months, when his doctor referred us to a Dermatologist. He decided to put him on a lower dose of a oral steroid and hopefully to get him on an injectable soon after. Within a 2 week period, I noticed some changes in Bruce. He began eating less and sleeping in unusual places. He also began sitting in what they call the "Pain Pose". I took him into the vet and she was doing her usual exam, when he cried at the slight touch of his belly. She ordered an X-ray to see if possibly there was a blockage. In a 20 min time frame our world was turned upside down! Bruce likely had FIP, it's not cure able and causes fluid build up in the abdomen. There are two forms of the disease, wet and dry....he had both! We ran every conceivable test to be sure as we could that this was what it was. Three days later and multiple emergency trips to our vet, we let him go. We had our vet perform an exploratory surgery, in one last hope that he had something they couldn't see.

Best experience with any insurance company!

My dog Godzilla recently got his nail caught in a door jam and it was nearly completely ripped out. After a short time it began to bother him and became infected after a first trip to the vet. He ended up needing part of his toe amputated and the cost of everything once it was said and done was nearly $1500... Thankfully I had recently gotten pet insurance and healthy paws made this a much smaller problem. Their responses and claim procedures were prompt and straight forward and they mailed me a check very quickly. I will always have them as a security blanket for my best friend!

So, So Thankful

Healthy Paws is quite literally a life saver. My border collie, Ziggy, had to be rushed to ER veterinary care at around 12am. Because of the time and location, the necessary intervention was double the cost of what it would have been during regular hours at my normal vet. There is no way I would have been able to afford the procedures necessary and still been able to pay rent had I not had Healthy Paws Insurance. They were fast and effective with processing my claim, and even sent an email checking to see if Ziggy was alright and if he had made a full recovery. There is not a doubt in my mind, I made the right decision by choosing Healthy Paws. I highly recommend this company to anyone seeking insurance coverage for their pets.

So glad I chose Healthy Paws!

We got a puppy this winter. I began to hear stories from friends about their puppys' accidents and injuries and how they wished they had pet insurance. I spent a good deal of time comparing pet insurances. Healthy Paws offered what I was looking for, including good reviews from its clients. Our puppy was recently diagnosed with cataracts and had to have surgery. Within two weeks, we received a reimbursement check (and a follow-up, well-wishing email) from Healthy Paws for the part they covered. What a relief!

This is an excellent company to deal with

I am so impressed with your service and caring. I never imagined being able to get claims processed and completed in a few hours without questions. They sent me a beautiful email checking how my puppy was and telling me to give her hugs for them. I have just been extremely impressed with the whole process from beginning to end.

Excelent service

Healthy Paws has been a godsend to my french bulldog Lola and I. Twice last month she had to have emergency vet visits. The first was after she was stung by yellow jackets and had respiratory distress and the second is when she had to stay in the hospital to be treated for hemorrhagic Gastrointeritis, which is a deadly phenomenon unless caught early. I had enough stress on my plate worring about my furbabies well being, it was nice not to have to stress about the medical costs as well. They do not cover the initial emergency vet visit fee, but every thing after that imcluding all diagnostic and medications, as well as over night stay, was covered. I have the $250 co pay and 80% and my monthly fee isn't bad at all. Completely affordable. I would recommend this service to everyone with a beloved pet. They are very prompt with payment as well. From claim to check was 11 days, 9 business days. On top of that I recently found out they were helping out with a french bulldog rescue and donated a good sum to them. I think that is amazing that they are giving back.

What a relief to have pet insurance

The people at Pet Smart noticed that when my dog urinated that he had blood in his stool. A trip to the vet showed no urinary tract infection, so the next step was X-rays. That showed bladder stones. He had to have surgery to remove the stones. when all was said and done, the bill was $1100. I was reimbursed 90% for all the procedures and was able to pay off the credit card. Reimbursement was fast and the process was easy.

AMAZING Pet Insurance!!!!

Since my husband and I had just recently gone down to one income we were hesitant to spend the extra money on pet insurance (plus, we have never had it in the past with other pets), but in the end decided to get coverage for our puppy "Pinot". Based upon our careful research and online reviews, we went with Healthy Paws Pet Insurance. Despite good reviews, you always wonder if you will have the same experience as others (especially when the reviews sound to good to be true). Unfortunately, for our poor little Pinot, we had to use our insurance within just a couple of months of getting it and Fortunately we were covered under Healthy Paws. All of Pinot's claims were processed within only a couple of days of being submitted online, all were approved and in less than a week, our reimbursement check was being processed. Throughout the process all of our questions were answered quickly, the online claim submission process was simple and the staff were so sweet, even checking in on our Pinot's healing progress following her surgery. Thankfully, we had selected the highest coverage plan and the lowest deductable because it ended up saving us $1500 (this is for one incident in the ER). It was incredible having the peace of mind that we weren't going to have a huge financial burden in the midst of having to deal with the fear we could lose our sweet 5 month old puppy if she didn't pull through her major surgery. We were blessed that our little Pinot made it through her surgery perfectly and is alive and well and on top of that our small investment each month in pet insurance ended up covering the bulk of our expenses. A Happy Ending to a potentially Sad Story.

Outstanding Experience

I had an outstanding experience with Healthy Paws during a most difficult time. My dog was only 3 1/2 years old and I had just rescued him in May 2014. He suddenly became ill with what we believe was an auto immune disease. The bills totaled near $6000 and in the end Reggie did not pull through. It was devastating. Healthy Paws not only covered everything as promised they were very kind, helpful and quick with the claims. I also received a sympathy card in the mail from them with hand written messages from their staff members. It was very touching. Healthy Paws made a very difficult situation much easier to handle in the end with their outstanding business practices and compassion. I can not recommend them enough. I will certainly be enrolling my next pup with Healthy Paws.
