Healthy Paws is AWESOME!

When our lab puppy, Luke, suddenly went lame over the weekend, for what seemed like a broken toe, having insurance made the decision to take him into the emergency vet so much easier. When the vet suggested we get xrays to determine the cause, it was such a relief to not have to let the cost effect our decision. This is already our third claim since we enrolled 5 months ago. Each time the claims team was extremely friendly and showed sincere concern for Luke's well-being. And, WOW... each time our claim was process within 24 hours. Even though, luckily, we haven't had any large claims (each under $250,) it has still paid for itself. I think the deductible, premiums and copay are extremely fair. I can't recommend Healthy Paws enough, and I do recommend them A LOT. I only wish my own health insurance were nearly as good. Healthy Paws is awesome!

Best decision for my 3 pugs

I had always believed in insuring my pet. My first pug had insurance from when he was months old. I was never truly satisfied with the coverage or customer service, but at least I was getting some money back when we submitted a claim. One day I was so frustrated with the insurance customer service we had, that I sat for a few hours and did my research. I never bothered before because I didn't think there would be a big difference in companies. Well, I was so wrong! You see, I now had three pugs to insure and I needed a company that cared for them as much as I did. Insuring our pugs with Pets Best was the best decision I made. Our claims are processed quickly and we get much more money back.

THE Best

I have had numerous pet insurance coverage for my pets, but have been with Pets Best since '08 and am very glad I changed over to them. Their staff have been very empathetic, have done their best to work with me, and truly care about animals. I would never change from them, wherever I live. I love their honestly and how they treat their customers. So great to work with!

Financial relief during the worst of times!

As with people, it is inevitable that during a pet's lifetime they will encounter health issues that require necessary and expensive care. Knowing that we had the financial support from our Embrace policy enabled us to provide our beloved cat with the very best cardiac specialist care he needed. Given that we live in an expensive city, knowing that Embrace did not reimburse based on fee schedules gave us extra peace of mind that his care would be covered at actual cost. We have submitted multiple claims and each have been reviewed quickly with reimbursement checks received within 14 days... each of our claims have been handled by the same person (Sam A.), whom has been very good with communication and case status updates. We are VERY PLEASED with our Embrace experience and recommend them very highly to anyone who truly loves their pet.

Very disappointed

Please see an exerp from an email that I sent to Trupainion upon completion of my claim: "I received 3 claim process notices (the one here 271018, 269924 & 269923). My query regards why I was charged 2 deductibles when this was all done in 1 procedure. 1 on the claim here (27018) and as well on 269923. I do note that Trupainion has divided the claim into 2, but I am sure that you can appreciate that the scheduling for these procedures were to save money (for Trupanion as well as us) on anaesthetics as well as undue stress on Zeus if we were to have done this one 2 separate occasions." Trupanion's response is below: "Our deductibles are per condition. As Zeus was under he was treated for the masses as well as his oral care. As there are two different condition we had to apply the deductible to both conditions." I cannot tell you how utterly disappointed I was with this response. Tina Furber

Frustrating, inefficient claims process

I got Pets Best after thoroughly researching numerous insurance companies out there, and based on reviews Pets Best appeared a great option - most reviews stated quick claims processing and payment of a large portion of vet bills. I have been with them 6+ months and submitted my 1st claim (only for $200) over 1.5 months ago - both my vet and I have gone in circles with them since then and the claim is still unresolved. They 1st contacted me about needing paperwork from the vet - completely understandable. Since my cat had only been to this vet once, I promptly let them know this and also gave them the contact info for her regular vet she had seen her whole life so they could ascertain "pre-existing illnesses" (none existed). A week or so later I was informed via email that my claim was closed because the vet that had seen my cat for her unexpected illness had not sent in records from the one visit. They did not enlist my help is contacting my vet or let me know they were having difficulty reaching them, rather they simply closed my claim out. I was frustrated with this and let them know, and in response a representative called me personally which I was pleasantly surprised by. This has been the only positive aspect of this frustrating, time-consuming process. As soon as I was made aware of my vet not sending in the paperwork and my claim being subsequently closed, I contacted my vet who promptly sent in the paperwork from the one visit. Exceptional Company

I cannot not say enough good things about Trupanion Pet Insurance. I insured my Doberman at 10 years of age. Approximately 6-7 months after policy inception she collapsed in my living room with a heart problem. Shortly after she developed problems with a mass on her leg that was inoperable due to her heart issues. This company paid approximately 18,000.00 to 20,000.00 dollars over the course of time that she was insured. I had a 250.00 deductible and they paid 90% of everything except office visits. This company is phenomenal. My girl enjoyed a great quality of life up until the end. I could not have afforded to take care of her with all of her issues without Trupanion. They are the best!

Paid ER bill when pet died

Our beloved dog Hazel died within about six weeks of signing her up for health insurance. We took her to the animal ER and she never came out--but we got a $2,000 bill. While Embrace took awhile to get us an answer--18 business days, when they promise 15 days, they paid the claim (minus the deductible). We were super surprised, though they would deny it due to ER or due to it being so soon after we signed up. Got a new dog, Bowie, and will buy pet insurance again through Embrace.
