Quick turnaround

Was pleasntly surprised how quickly I received a check! I faxed the claim to Trupanion and within a day had a confirmation e-mail that it was being processed. A day later I had another email, stating a ceck was on its way. Three days later I had it! They do take off some money for the office visit, but overall paid about 70% of the claim. I have 2 dogs and it was the same situation for the second! Great service.

Best Pet Insurance Ever!

I have a German Shepherd who was diagnosed with an ear hematoma, which needed to be surgically repaired. I didn't hesitate one minute getting the surgery because I knew Trupanion had my back! , I'm so impressed with the whole claims process. It took about 4 days to process 2 claims. Trupanion kept me informed through every step of the claims process.

Good service

The emailed status reports were great. I'm still awaiting payment. The only complaint I have is that they emailed me regarding one of the three invoices I sent for Wilson's illness, stating that I hadn't met the deductible so there would be no payment. I called and they told me they reviewed each invoice separately and I would receive payment on the other two invoices.

Arguably one of the best pet insurance plans

I have had a policy with this insurance company for two years now, specifically, their Preferred Plus with Routine 400. I pay $106.95/month for two dogs. I adopted two dogs from a shelter two years ago and both have recurrent health problems. During the first year, I brought them to the hospital several times and PetFirst reimbursed me a total of $866.30 for accidents/illnesses. They also reimbursed me a total of $666.40 for wellness (flea/tick prevention, vaccinations, routine exam, screening, etc.) The policy also covers $75 worth of behavioral dog training per dog, so I always schedule a session every year. I have absolutely no complaints and doubt I will ever have any in the near future. They are very direct and honest about what they will and will not cover. It is fairly easy to process a claim and it takes a few weeks for them to process the claim upon receipt. I have called them a few times and the customer service is excellent. I only have a $100 deductible but the maximum coverage amount for accidents/illnesses is $15,000/year. I highly recommend this pet insurance company for owners who recently adopted a dog from a shelter.

NOT RECOMMEND

Our dog has UTI and she has been continue giving care and it costed us several hundred of dollars for testing and medications. However, every time we submitted the claims we only get pay less than $20. We've met our deductible ($100) for a year. ASPCA still charge for continuing care for another $100 for a deductible so this last claim we got paid for only 80 cents. They hardly cover anything for your pet. I would NOT RECOMMEND ASPCA pet insurance to anyone.

Trupanion Coverage of Sock Puppy

When I got a new puppy, I decided to get insurance on her and our other dog. I called to set it up and was going to get a $500 deductible on both dogs. The agent suggested that I lower the deductible on the puppy since they often do foolish things. I gladly took her recommendation and set up a $100 deductible on the puppy. Sure enough about a month later, the puppy swallowed a whole sock before I could get it away from her. I called our emergency vet and had her to their office within 15 minutes. They were able to get the sock out without surgery but my stress level was lowered by knowing that I would be able to afford any and all recommended treatment for her without cringing at the costs. Trupanion was very quick about reimbusing me for my claim and covered all of the costs they were supposed to. I will highly recommend them (and have already) to anyone with a pet. Thanks to Trupanion!

Saved $1200 on Jake's latest health problem

In general I've been glad I have had pet insurance. They are still probably making a profit (which is fine), but on big ticket items I have definitely gotten reimbursed substantial amounts of money. The last claim was for $2,000, which I received $1,200 back. They pay in a timely manner with good explanations of what is covered.

Illness Claim paid in just under 3 weeks! Awesome

I've had only wonderful experiences with the Embrace Team while submitting wellness claims and just recently had to take my pup in for emergency surgery! I was so scared! I sent in her illness claim forms and received emails from the Embrace staff periodically throughout the review process updating me on the status of the claim. The claim reimbursement payment was received in less than 3 weeks! Quite impressive, but most impressive is the continued phenomenal customer service I receive from Embrace. Signing up was the best decision I ever made!
