Long illness large claims

Trupanion were very supportive by phone and email through this ordeal that lasted from April to Sept. Our claims were very large and were paid promptly. Our dog (mix of Airedale and Greyhound) developed polyarthritis from some unknown cause. she was so sick we thought we'd have to put her down. UC Davis veterinary school helped her through it but even they weren't sure of what made her ill. She is now cured. Trupanion helped us through all of this very expensive process.

Great service!

This was the first year in the many that he's been covered by ASPCA Pet Health Insurance that my cat had any medical needs aside from his regular wellness exam (which his insurance has regularly covered most of) -- and boy was I glad that I've had him insured! Several vet appointments, multiple blood tests, meds, x-rays... the out-of-pocket costs were pretty staggering. Four separate claims -- but then I got my insurance reimbursements, and most of it was covered, and I got reimbursed 80% of what I had paid. The claims were processed quickly, the reimbursements were direct-deposited into my account, and I received follow-up calls from the ASPCA customer service representatives to find out how my cat was doing and if they could be of any further assistance. Fortunately he has fully recovered, is eating well once again, and is one happy kitty!

I can't complain

Ranger is a 6 year old labradoodle. When he was 2 he tore a ligament in his left knees, which had to be replaced. Then 2 months later he ate something that caused a blockage and had to have emergency surgery. At that point I decided to get VPI. The left knee was of course excluded, but after 6 months the stomach blockage incident was taken off exclusion. At age 4 he tore the ligament in his right knee! Vpi paid for all but my deductible and also covered the laser treatments that got him moving again.

Pays for itself (and gives piece of mind)!

I have a 3.5yr old lab VERY active lab, and though he's in great shape, random things seem to always happen. Turns out he has a thyroid problem (treatable with meds every day the remainder of his life) and obtained doggy flu during the outbreak here in Chicago. Everything worked out perfect, but for the $80 or so I spend monthly (the premium plan) I was able to be reimbursed about half a year's worth! Sure, for shots and normal stuff it might seem a little pricey, but if one random thing happens you become VERY thankful you have it. THe dog I had prior to my current pup developed really aggressive cancer and having a couple surgeries and regular chemo treatments and it cost thousands. If I would've had insurance back then, I would have had almost 10 years covered. It was crazy expensive. So at the end of the day you get your money's worth knowing if the worst happens, you have options opposed to feeling helpless. My pup is pretty much my son. I'd do anything for him ;)

Thank Goodness for Pet Insurance!

I am so grateful to have insured my dogs with your insurance. It has helped with the cost of going to the vet. I've been so pleased with it that I just had my daughter sign up for it for her new pup. Thanks so much.

Can not imagine what we would do without it!

Healthy Paws is incredible. I cannot put a value on the piece of mind Healthy Paws offers. There have been many cases where I have debated whether or not to take Andy to the vet, and in the past probably would have opted not to go because of the cost. I don't worry about this anymore, and I am so sure it has made Andy's life better/happier. More than that, the care the team has for my pet is so clear. Last month Andy got sick and had some significant vet bills. Less then a week after our first vet visit Tim reached out to check on Andy and see how he was doing! Just the fact that they took the time to check in on him was incredible.

i am surprised!

I have always thought pet insurance is a silly concept. Something possessed me to research it and purchase a policy with our new pup. I read lots of negative reviews and was leery. however, this has been the best i could of hoped for. everything has been processed and approved and checks sent quickly! my dog had to have unexpected surgery and rehab. this has saved me thousands of dollars and given my dog a chance at long happy life!

Amazing...I only Healthy Paws covered Humans, too!

I have a 10 month old Labradoodle puppy. When he was just 9 weeks old he got really sick. As a "new parent" it was really scary, and so I made the decision to sign up for pet insurance. After tireless research, Healthy Paws looks to be the best...the price and the coverage was better than anything I had seen. Thankfully, we didn't need to use it. But, recently, my dog needed an emergency endoscopy to remove something he had accidentally eaten. I submitted the claim easily via their website and within less than 24 hours received confirmation that it was completed and a check was on it's way to me. I received the check less than a week after submitting. Not only that, they were in touch to follow up and see how my pup was doing. Like I said, I only wish they covered humans because their care and service trumps any health insurance provider I have ever dealt with.

Very Very Slow Claim Process!

I've been with 24Petwatch for 6 years(since 2009) and had a claim in 2014 and one in April 2015. The claim process is low-tech and painfully long. I had to fill out the form manually then fax; email submission just started this year 2015). From submission to receiving the claim check took 2 months! I had to call to check on status and the wait time was as long as 10-15 minutes! Twice, I selected the option to leave the queue and have 24Petwatch call me. Well, both times they never called me back as promised. The claim process was extremely slow and frustrating. They made mistakes and declined my 2nd claim so they sent me an Reassessment Request form and told me it will take up to another 8 weeks for them to process my request!!! I found another pet insurance company that offers much higher coverage for comparable premiums so I am leaving 24Petwatch. Very disappointed!
