Major Medical TPLO Surgery
Tinker has had the 24 Pet Watch insurance policy since we adopted her at about 2 years old and is now around 10 years old. We never had any claims for her until recently. Since we have changed vets over the years it was a little challenge to get all of her records sent over, but we were able to do so around 2 years ago when she had a small seizure at the vets office. We made a second claim 2.5 weeks ago after she tore her cruciate ligament and needed a major surgery to treat the injury. We submitted the claim and the direct deposit was made by 24 Pet Watch almost 2 weeks to the day of our submitted. The policy is clear that vet records must be provided and once those records have been sent, this is a seamless process of online submission and claims processing. We have not used this policy for her much in the past and during the pandemic when I was laid off I almost dropped the coverage. I would have opted for the surgery regardless, but having the policy with 24 Pet Watch made the financial strain of this $5,000 surgery much less. I have 2 other dogs covered with this company and will never have a pet without insurance.
I look at a lot of insurance companies I like my dogs micro chip is included in my plan. Ember tore her knee up I had her undergo TPLO surgery . I turned in my claim they were very professional and fast with a decision . I recommend 24Petwatch to everyone I talk to.
Since step one getting Trupanion coverage for my pet was easy as pie to obtain and understand. Everything about the coverage, policies, exclusions, and deductible now and over time was explained up front. Having insurance that never caps out on pay outs, always has the same percentage of coverage, and always has someone available to discuss customer service, while direct billing with all major hospitals puts my mind completely at ease knwoing anything that comes up will be able to be within my budget. I recommend Trupanion Pet Insurance to all my clients.
Glad I have pet insurance but not sure this is the right one.
I adopted a puppy about 8 months ago. She’s been extra high maintenance (parasites, heart surgery, several instances of diarrhea). I’ve been grateful for the pet insurance because we’ve already spent thousands of dollars on vet care for this dog. Unfortunately, the process to get reimbursement from healthy paws is frustrating. One minor irritation: you can only take pictures of the invoice to submit a claim on the app. You cannot attached documents or pictures. You have to use the camera to take a picture of a paper invoice. None of my vets use paper invoices; they are all electronic so it would be much more convenient if the app had the capability to upload photos or docs. My main problem with the process, though, is that they make little to no efforts to let you know that your claim is not being processed because they’re missing something. The result of this is that I’ve waited for 10 business days before reaching out to customer service, sometimes several times by email and phone, only to find out that my claim wasn’t being processed. Thus it takes several weeks to get reimbursed. Also, they do not offer pre-authorization so if you are going in for an expensive procedure (heart surgery) and want to be absolutely sure of your terms of coverage, good luck.
