Expect what you pay when your dog is 1 to be way higher at age 9
** this company does everything right. Except the price you pay when your dog is 1 is NOT what you pay when they are 8 years older etc. I’ve had your policy 9 plus years. I’ve talked to your team many times. They told me straight they never see prices go down, but it has happened. That’s mis leading. The company does not tell you to expect prices to go up regularly for the same coverage**** My 50 a month is now 87. Over 9 years. Nothing has changed on my end I filed zero claims for the bulk of our 9+ years. Trupanion made lots money off of us. Which is ok Your prices don’t go down, please don’t pretend they do. You guys do everything else so well, what a shame you handle this important part of your business so poorly. Think long term. Think repeat business. Think dog after dog rather then cashing in once ……, then the customer goes with your more transparent competition next pet. If you want repeat customers, you should update your model. You should focus on transparency with price changes. Tell customers day one this will happen. As it wil with Trupanion. (They say it could go down, call customer service, ask them if they have ever once seen prices go down. I did. They said no, not once. My opinion, Tell people day one…….your cost now, is no what it will be in 5 years or in 10 years. You and I both know 99 percent of your policies (if not 100 percent) the monthly premium will go up. So say it up front, so we don’t feel blindsided. I appreciate the customer Service. I appreciate the help overall. I never had an issue with a claim- It’s fast and easy when we have used it. This would be my only point of contention. I don’t appreciate the Lack of transparency with price changes when you start Treat your customers like they have a brain So close to a great company!!! So close to a company who would thrive off referrals. I used to refer people to you! At least 5 friends signed up. That was a long time ago. All of us feel this way, none of us are recommending Trupanion anymore. I’d like to. But your competition is far more transparent on pricing Just some honest feedback. We have had two 10 year dogs with you all. Not sure, maybe this dog will be the last through Trupanion due to things mentioned above. I guess we will see Hope you adjust your business model otherwise you have a great company. Or just tell people when they sign up. Bummer you can’t do this part the right way too, everything else so good

Got a stellar referral from a friend so…
Got a stellar referral from a friend so I went online. The online forms froze and would not work but I called and was immediately assisted by an awesome guy (Robert I think?) He was super helpful and it was a breeze! Haven't needed to make a claim yet but I am feeling very comforted to know if I have to, I will have help.

Recently we had to submit a claim for our sweet fur baby Mona. Our vet was able to submit the invoice while we were in the office and it was preapproved before we left the office. I found this extremely efficient which decreased our anxiety regarding the financial cost of the vet visit. Overall our experience with Trupanion has been a positive one
