Premiums went up 50% two years in a row. So they doubled our premiums over 24 months. I just cancelled after the policy renewal raised our premiums again.

I submitted two claim, both of which were denied. This company considers everything to be a pre-existing condition. If you get their insurance, you are wasting yourmoney

My cat had an expensive health crisis which we might not have been able to withstand if Trupanion had not lived up so spectacularly to its promise. The crisis resulted in a chronic condition which requires maintenance medication. Trupanion continues to cover the meds and has never failed to hold up its end of the agreement. My dog required surgery for an injured knee and Trupanion was excellent from the first day! First of all, I could call anytime (day or night) and a customer service rep was there to assist me. They suggested I fill out a pre-approval form to ensure the surgery would be covered. The process was simple and Trupanion provided me not only with an answer, but a break down of what they would cover and what my costs would be within 48 hours of my pre-approval submission. Once the surgery was complete and my claims form was submitted, Trupanion had a check in the mail; which I received about 6 days after the claim. So difficult to find great customer service and a notification system like Trupanion offers.

You never want to be in a situation where financial considerations prevent you from caring for your pet. If it's worth having a pet, then it's worth having pet insurance and Trupanion is great insurance. They've paid many claims for our bullmastiff and all the premiums are worth it when I look at our healthy and happy dog.
