Excellent service, great insurance!

We recently had to file a claim because our puppy had an expensive accident. When I have called I always get a friendly, caring, and helpful employee and am never on hold for longer than 30 seconds. I called to ask about filing a claim and they explained how to do so with the ease of submitting everything by email. I got a confirmation email a couple days later and a check in the mail for 90% of the vet bill after our $250 deductible. Couldn't be happier with this insurance company and boy am I glad we got it the day after we got our puppy!

Payment of 3rd Claim

Submitted a claim for services on 12/30/15. Company took 15 days to process the claim instead of 5 days which is the advertised promise. Kept being called by Underwriting or customer service twice to ask if my dog, who is only 2 years old and who I've only had since 4/15 had seen another vet. Told them no. Received another call several days later asking again if my dog had been seen by another vet other than the one I was submitting the bill for. I knew what they were getting at; they were trying to say that this condition was a pre-existing condition so they wouldn't have to pay the claim!!! There was no pre-existing condition for my dog but this is what they were "digging" for. THey had never questioned the first two claims, but questioned this one!!! I thought this insurance company was the best pet insurance I could get for my dog. However, they are just like all the rest; they like it when you pay your premium, just as long as the animal doesn't have too many claims. I get this to mean that even though my dog still has the problem for which she sought medical treatment, that any further bills I submit will be scrutinized under a microscope and payment will be delayed. This company is horrible, just like all the rest. Be careful, because if your pet gets sick, and it takes several tests and/or vet visits to determine the problem, your claim will be delayed and/or possibly denied!

Embrace made it easier to get right treatment

We enrolled in a high deductible plan just in case something really bad happened, hoping we would never have to use it. But then our dog became mysteriously ill overnight and continued to decline. On the 4th day after symptoms started and 3 vet visits, we were admitted to the emergency animal hospital and were seeing a neurologist. Having the insurance made it so much easier to get the tests we needed (X-rays, MRI, spinal tap). The tests were able to rule out some potentially horrible outcomes and allowed to get the right diagnosis and treatment. Our dog is responding to treatment and is on the mend. Embrace has been a pleasure to work with: promptly processing our claims, answering our questions, and being overall considerate and thoughtful during a stressful time. I wish human health insurance would be so easy to navigate. I have been very thankful that we enrolled and have recommended Embrace to several other pet owners.

Faxed claim on 1/13/2016. Deposit is on it's way. Would probably be in my account, if this wasn't a national holiday. I love Embrace. :)

Cutaneous cyst & dental cleaning

My cat Butters had a small cyst on his right side which my vet had been monitoring, and recommended removal of the cyst while he did a routine dental cleaning with Butters under anesthesia. The total cost for both procedures was somewhat costly. While Embrace did not cover the costs of the cyst removal, as it was determined to be a pre-existing condition, I am pleased that they did in fact cover approximately 1/4 of the overall cost for services rendered that day, pertaining to the dental cleaning.

Took away the fear of high cost treatment

My dog had a seizure, a massive scary event for me. The Dr. said she needed some very expensive tests... Having this policy took away the fear of how I would pay for it and get her what she needed....

Not Satisfied

So far, I am not satisfied with Pet First. I filed my first claim recently and they emailed me asking for a non-existent vet visit file. I have called several times to try and resolve the issue and have never gotten an actual person. I keep getting the message that it is after hours, despite calling well within the time frame that they are supposedly open. I had very high hopes for this company and I certainly hope that they will resolve this issue and improve in the future.

Extremely prompt service and easy to file claims.

At a very stressful time with the health of our dog, we found filing a claim with Healthy Paws to be very easy. I emailed the pet emergency the claim form, they download it, I signed it and they faxed it off. Within a very few days, I received an email from Healthy Paws stating that they were reviewing our claim, a couple of days later, they processed the claim and within 2 weeks we received a check. We live in Alaska, so mail takes a couple of days longer for us. We were so happy with this wonderful insurance company and the speed and compassion that they showed. I would recommend them to anyone that loves their pets and wants to have some peace of mind, should that emergency come.
