Beyond awesome. Totally worth every dime!

Years ago, pet insurance products had a reputation for being overpriced, difficult to use and not worth the money. Embrace has totally changed that paradigm. Their employees are lovely, the website is simple to use and very clear, claims were handled timely and well and the peace of mind is incredibly wonderful I adopted a 1.5 year old dog 4 years ago. Bengy look-a-like. After much research I chose Embrace for my insurance coverage. My former dog had issues that cost me well over $5000 and I'd had to make some difficult choices for care due to cost. And, I didn't want to have to do that again. My new dog was healthy for two years then developed some GI problems last fall. They were resolved but came back with a vengeance a few weeks back. I cannot tell you how comforting it was to know that I could make good health care choices for my pet - knowing that Embrace had my back. The vets love it as well. My latest claims totaled more than $5,000 and Embrace picked up 80% since I'd already met my deductible. Luckily my dog is now healthy - albeit with food allergies - and on a GI maintenance regime that will hopefully keep her healthy and happy for years. Embrace totally rocks!

Embrace has been a lifesaver!

When we adopted our mixed breed Schnauzer 6 yrs ago, we were advised to consider pet Health insurance for possible unforeseen emergencies. When we discovered that vet bills could be higher that human health bills, we opted after careful research for the 90-10 plan from Embrace with a $500 deductible & $10,0000 annual limit. For the 1 st 3 years of the coverage was about a wash with the few vet bills & related problems basically a break even experience. However, just under 3 years ago, our pooch lost most of her eye site and was diagnosed with a large but slow growing brain tumor which with treatment could have a reasonably normal life. Since this event, Embrace has paid out almost $15,000 and has renewed our policy with no ifs ,ands or buts. They have been honest & fair throughout the entire process. As a business & property owner dealing with numerous insurance issues on a regular basis, I found these folks to be the gold standard on how an insurance company is supposed to operate. Unfortunately, Embrace has proved to be the exception rather than the rule. Other insurance companies would be smart to emulate the dealings of these folks. Over all a 10 out of 10!

Don't waste your money....REALLY DON"T

I have had my policy for years. I have paid through the nose for coverage for my dog. She had a few minor problems and every time I submitted a claim it was denied because of my 250.00 PER INCIDENT copay! I just took her to the vet for a teeth cleaning where she had two teeth pulled. Now I have her teeth cleaned every two years. First I received an email stating that they had to see her medical records before settling the claim. Well they paid 100.00 of the 560.00 bill. They split the bill in two and paid 100.00 for some of the things but the rest they said WAS DENIED because of periodontal disease and THAT is not covered under her 66.00 a month policy! OH and while waiting to receive payment I received a policy renewal letter stating my monthly cost would not be 90.00!!!!!! Unless your dog is hit by a car or something MAJOR happens this is not worth it. I would rather take my chances and use a credit card to pay for her bills then WASTE thousands over time and each time you submit a claim it is either denied or you get a very small payment. NEVER AGAIN

This is a great company!

I've been to the vet many times with my 10+ year old Great Pyrenees. My vet is always willing to submit the claims for me with the claim form I left with them. This makes each claim super easy. I'm always reimbursed quickly and without any problems. I'm so glad I started this insurance coverage for my dog when he was a puppy. It is reassuring to know I can take care of Rajah as he ages without astronomical vet bills.

Quick return

Returning home to find that my dog had eaten a pack of gum that was left on the counter, on a Sunday was an expensive trip to the vet. I was happy that I had pet insurance to help recover the cost of the overnight stay at an emergency vet. Thank you PetFirst for me making the decision to treat my dog easy, and not be concerned with the cost of the overnight stay. I received the refund in 5 days after submitting my claim.

Healthy Paws Pet Insurance has made my dog's health care stress free. Since I adopted her she has had cancer and kidney issues. These are very expensive treatments, but with the top notch care from Healthy Paws I don't have to worry about ensuring she gets the best care! They quickly process claims and reach out personally to see how my boxer is doing. And I'm happy to report that as a result of receiving the best medical care that is offered, she is loving life and enjoying every minute regardless if it's a hike, playing with her friends at day care, or cuddling on the couch.

Nationwide ruined VPI

We've had VPI insurance on both of our dogs for many years now. Up until later 2015 I was pretty happy with it. Our older dog has a heart condition and is on a significant amount of medications and has to see a cardiologist several times a year. The claims were submitted and overall I felt that we were being reimbursed fairly. After the switch the Narionwide, that has all changed. Suddenly we have now reached our annual maximum as of March?? The worst part is that when I received the paperwork in the mail with the new schedule and announcement of the name change, I called to ask if I still had the same amount of coverage as before. The rep assured me that my policy had not changed and if anything our coverage would be better than before. That was a blatant lie. Nationwide has gotten greedy and has absolutely ruined VPI. I'm going to cancel our policies immediately and plan to contact all of the VCA clinics to inform them of these horrible business practices. It was a VCA that initially gave us the brochure for VPI and they need to know that their patients are being screwed by this company. If you ask me there is a class action lawsuit coming their way. If anyone here is on Twitter, be sure to complain about @nationwidepet publicly. Social media is the best way to ruin the reputation of a big company these days & it's the only way they will listen. Can I give zero stars? That is what they deserve.
