Wish my own health insurance were so efficient!

First, in our wildest dreams, could not have imagined how expensive our vet bills would our first 1+ year of dog ownership. Pet health insurance is one of the best financial decisions we have ever made.I can not compare Healthy Paws to other pet insurers because this is our first time using such a service, but I have to say that our past and present human insurance providers could learn a lot from this company! Here is my experience: When I signed up I chose a $250 deductible and 20% co-pay. It turns out the higher premiums associated with a lower deductible and co-pay would have already paid for themselves, but I had no idea our 2-year-old dog would need multiple surgeries in rapid succession! In any case, we've been grateful for the coverage we do have. Our husky has had three surgeries related to the human equivalent of torn ACLs. I have the Healthy Paws app on my phone. Finding a claim is ridiculously simple. Before I even leave the vet's office, I open the app, select "submit a claim," take a photo (in-app) of the itemized bill, and hit "submit." By email, I've gotten basically four types of communication in response. 1. Claim submission confirmation. (Immediately?) 2. Notice that claim is being processed (within a day or two). 3. Notice that claim has been approved and (if applicable) that a reimbursement check is being mailed. (Within a few days, although I think the first one took longer, probably while they determined if the condition was pre-existing, since we had so recently purchased the insurance). 4. A kind, personalized follow-up inquiry about our dog's recovery. That's it. It's been unbelievable to me! We have a large family and are big-time health insurance users and it is not uncommon for us to get EOBs and bills for services six months or more after a service date. And we often have to spend hours on the phone with the providers and our insurance company trying to sort out who pays what. I don't know if there are cheaper or better pet insurers out there, but I'm not even interested in finding out. We are so grateful to Healthy Paws for their efficient, professional, and compassionate service model that we look forward to a long relationship with them.

Two Thumbs Up for Embrace Insurance

Unfortunately, we have had to submit several claims regarding our German Shepherd, Cessie. But fortunately, Embrace has responded promptly and courteously. Embrace is, in my opinion, second to no other pet insurance company.

Great Coverage!

So glad we have a policy in place for our Chocolate Lab Guinness. He's still a pup (1.5 yrs) and is really good and gobbling down things he shouldn't. He recently swallowed a 4 inch piece of bully stick and vomitted it out later but it left him with continued vomitting and choking. We took him to the vet to verify he had no other obstructions or damage to his digestive track. Pet's Best covered us within days of our claim!

Not worth the cost of the policy

I had this insurance for about 8 years and would have done better setting the premium aside to pay for medical expenses. When Lisa got really sick with a liver disease, they only paid 1/4 of the total cost of treatment for my cat. They have a set amount for the treatment of the illness ($135) which is to cover exam, medication, any procedures, etc. They only pay for testing/bloodwork once for the illness. They discount the allowable charges to an extreme. In the end, they pay just a small fraction of the cost for diagnosis and treatment of any major illness. Don't waste your time or money with this insurance.

We love this company!

For peace of mind, efficiency, and caring this is the best company around! Even though our dog is only a puppy we have had multiple claims already ranging from baby teeth not falling out to lameness and the beginning stages of hip problems. All of our claims have been reimbursed very quickly...and whenever we have called, we get friendly efficient service and the Embracer really seems to care about our little one's health. We love this company. It's worth every penny.

Great Pet Insurance

I am so pleased with the service and care from this company. I have a very sick cat and the claims service has been very smooth and easy. The Vets caring for him love using Embrace because they are so easy to use. In addition I have lost a couple of pets and when I notify them they are so caring and really go above an beyond.

They never respond to my second claim

Well, even if they on paid me partial on my first claim, at least they responded. It was on June, 2016. The following month my dog got some infection and filed a claim on 7/15/16, both via fax and email, up to now 8/22/16, they have never responded. I tried to follow up by phone and email but to no avail. Is this insurance called 'fly-by-night'? I always get a recorded message when I call their number directing me to the website. On the website, they only instruct you to send an email. Their policy of to respond to claim within 15 days but it's been over a month since the claim was filed. It is ridiculous! And they keep on sweeping the insurance premiums from my bank account. How do I stop and cancel this coverage when I can get a hold of any of these people. They have the worst business practice ever! THIS IS AN HONEST FEEDBACK BASED ON MY EXPERIENCE, SO PLEASE DO NOT REMOVE.

Peace of MInd

We have used ASPCA pet insurance for years and it has been a wonderful experience. Especially, when we had to take our pets to the emergency vet. It is such a stressful experience but we always knew we had the safety net so the financial burden would not be such a worry. We always knew our pet would receive excellent care. Our reimbursements have been fast. Recently, our Boston Terrier Spike hurt his back to the point we could not even pet him. He feels better now and we thought nothing of going to the emergency vet.

Embrace is the best

My OESD had a bad year - not too serious tho. A tick disease plus a hematoma in his hear. Everything is back to normal. Having Embrace was a blessing that helped me through each of the incidents.
