Phone explanations have been very clear. Currently, they show both actual denials and included in deductible as "denied". They are working to change that, which will likely reduce need to call.

I have had Healthy Paws for about 8 years. I have always been happy with how quickly they process claims and reimburse you for the expenses you've incurred. Last week our dachshund developed severe IVDD and had to have emergency back surgery to remove a ruptured disc. His surgery costs us $16,151.12! We were shocked by how expensive his surgery was going to cost us. We submitted our bills to Healthy Paws the day he was released from the hospital. Within 4 days we had our reimbursement - $12,442.09! We were so relieved his policy covered close to 80% of what we spent. I have always recommended Healthy Paws to people who ask me if I have insurance, but now I am singing their praises from the rooftops!

I have subscribed to Trupanion since Chloe was a puppy. They have always been helpful and usually quickly responsive. So first a big thank you. This time the response to my claim was unusually long. Lemonade has been a great pet insurance for our 1 year old French Bulldog. He ate a kid’s toy that he shouldn’t have, but then it was too big to get past his stomach, so I had to take him to the pet ER. Lemonade paid for most of the ER visit and the scope procedure to remove the foreign body. That was over $3,000! Plus it was very easy to place the claim and then get the payment.

My small dog recently injured herself, and that injury required multiple veterinary services, including an expensive TPLO surgery. I submitted a claim for each invoice, and each claim was settled within days. Each claim had an explanation of benefits which clearly explained what was covered, what was not, what how much went toward my deductible. I’ve had Trupanion insurance for my dog Newman since I adopted him way back in 2009. Over the years I’ve submitted a few small claims, but he’s been a pretty healthy boy. Unfortunately this week Newman had to have two major eye surgeries, and Trupanion was there for me and not only did they cover 90% of my costs after my deductible (which added up to over $17,000!), but they paid the eye clinic directly and immediately, so I didn’t have to wait for a claim reimbursement! Thank you Trupanion for being the company I hoped you would be, and then some!
