After 48 hours of diarrhea from both of our 6-month-old French Bulldogs, we had to bring them in for an emergency evaluation. After spending $3,000 and a 7-day course of pre-biotics, they are now back to normal. The positive aspect of this situation is MetLife Pet Insurance. We have always had insurance for our previous pets with other providers, but they all pale in comparison to MetLife. The process for submitting a claim was so efficient that it was almost hard to believe it was that simple. I filled out the claim form online, attached the detailed treatment receipt, and received confirmation of the claim receipt within 1-2 days. We were then reimbursed within 7-10 days. I highly recommend MetLife to anyone in the market for pet insurance.

Our rescued cat has required bladder stone surgery and prescription food to keep her healthy. Response to claims has always been quick and claim submittal couldn't be easier.

Excellent service, app is easy to use

I signed up with Metlife Pet Insurance in March of 2023. Have filed over $900 in medical treatment for two of my pets with MetLife Pet Insurance. I was told by an agent that my insurance would cover all injuries and illnesses after 2 week waiting period and for treatments such as spaying and neutering. Every single one of my claims have been denied. I reported my one-month-old kittens who are two from the same litter, exact age. Metlife inputted the incorrect age for one of the kittens by 2 years! When I caught the mistake later, they reset my policy and had me restart my deductible payment, for THEIR administrative error. This pet insurance company is scamming customers by making it difficult to reimburse claims. I contacted customer service in mid-October to assist. They informed me the review would take 3-4 business days. It has now been over 6 weeks with no response. I have other friends and family who are sharing similar complaints. I should have known their monthly payments for the amount of supposed coverage was too good to be true. I will be following up with California Department of Insurance to flag these fraudulent practices by misstating their services upon enrollment.

We've had Healthy Paws pet insurance for our dachshund since we got him four years ago and have always had a positive experience with claims being processed easily and quickly. He recently needed emergency spinal surgery and hospitalization for three days. Even though this claim was extremely high and included three pages of charges, everything was processed quickly, helping us avoid any financial difficulties in caring for our little man. It was a whirlwind day regular vet to 24 hour clinic for abdominal ultrasound, bloodwork then told to rush to another emergency clinic when ultrasound revealed ruptured gallbladder surgery was needed ASAP!, after hearing the quote for the surgery and if she makes it through will be several days hospital stay. After freaking out my husband says we have pet insurance oh yeah right! Thank god. Just the surgery and hospital stay was $11,000. Plus the lead up cost to get her to that point. After each vet and clinic we sent in the invoices and they were approved quickly and we started to get reimbursement checks the following week after her surgery! Anyone he tells me they are getting a puppy or a dog/cat I tell them to get pet insurance immediately. You just never know. I got her insurance when she was 12 weeks old, never used it till she was 4 then Boom! IMHA 3 blood transfusions, 9 days hospital! Healthy paws came thru and now this gallbladder rupture! Don’t be the person standing at the reception desk when your animal is sick having to make a life or death decision for your pet! You can say no problem I have pet insurance to back me up!

When your loved one, in this case, your dog is sick, you have so many things to worry about. One of them may probably be affordability. MetLife Pet Insurance is great! Customer service is helpful with all my questions. They work with your Vet Office to get all the necessary paperwork to process your claim.
