First disappointment
Diagnoses/conditions treated were ignored. Pre-existing conditions should not exist for my dog who has been insured by Trupanion as long as I've had her.

I chose this pet insurance plan for multiple reasons: reasonable price and good coverage! Just got it so thankfully haven’t had to use it...hopefully I won’t need it in the future but feel good knowing it’s there just in case!

Best decision ever!
Best decision ever made to get pet insurance! Hoped that I never needed to use it. That was true for a while and a little over 2 1/2 years into it, my Frenchie mix suffered a herniated disc. Fortunately, with insurance he was able to get surgery and continues with bi weekly rehab visits without the stress of the financial impacts that the family would have had. Trupanion was and continues to be super easy to assist with the initial incident, reassuring throughout the process and continuing with the submission of claims as incurred. I recommend pet insurance through Trupanion to everyone. Hoping you never have to utilize it but having the peace of mind to know that I was able to get the best care for my dog.

Reimbursement for vet expense
Our nearly 12 year old pup was diagnosed with a mammary tumor which needed to be c removed to prevent more spread. We submitted our documentation for our pre-approval, once that was approved we followed through with her surgery. We submitted the receipts/invoices and we did get reimbursed, however we felt the reimbursement time was a bit long. But overall we are very satisfied with the always helpful phone staff and how clear they make everything.
