Fast & Friendly Service

This is the 2nd time we've had to submit a claim for our now 8 month old puppy. I don't know what we would have done without Trupanion! Gator's bet bill in just 1 weeks time was $700 during the 2nd week of December!!! Thankfully we selected the $0 deductible with a slightly higher but more manageable monthly payment. There was no hassle, the claim form is easy to complete, and the customer service is helpful and courteous. The best part is we are reimbursed within 2 weeks time! I highly recommend Trupanion to family and friends with pets.

Great

Trupanion - great to deal with

I've been very satisfied with Trupanion's services. They do what they said they'd do, which is (after deductible for the illness is met) pay 90%. I especially like being thanked by them for taking good care of my kitty, and they even asked me to forward their thanks on to my vet. They do care about my pet, though maybe not quite as much as I do.

Great turnaround payment time

My lab/mix dog swallowed a squeeky toy which made him very sick. After xrays , tox screens lab work and IV fluids and then Barium swallow a intestinal obstruction was seen. So with exploratory surgery for a foriegn object Buster has now totally recovered and is his own self again. We had a very good experience with remburstment for 90% of surgery cost,

Immediate Reimbursement

I am so pleased that I can get the care my pet needs, and not have to worry about how to pay for it. I have the option of having my reimbursement check sent to me or to my vets office.

Disappointed

I insured my puppy from the age of 4 months. She had a few GI incidents (as puppies do). By the time they subtracted the deductible each time, and charges for office visits and everything else, they barely paid anything. The response time was good, for what they paid. Then they notified me the premium was increasing by about 20% a year later. The cost vs what they actually covered is just not worth it. Read the fine print. I cancelled and they tried to put me on a guilt trip, wouldn't take no for an answer, tried to get me to lower the insurance coverage, etc. I was disappointed as this was supposed to be one of the best but the premium was too high for what they pay out, especially for a young dog.

there is a mix up in claims honored and denied

I submitted 9 claims for dogs Rusty and Gunner. I was notified a claim of 10/11 would be denied. But the wrong dog and incident were identified. I called and told Anne Oneill about this and emailed Jennifer May. I hope the other 8 claims will be paid. I have not yet received a statement about payment.

Good Service

Claim was processed quickly. My only issue is that I would prefer that reimbursements were done with direct deposit, rather than by mailing a cheque. It means a trip to the mail box and the bank, and mailing time. Perhaps they could work on getting this service :)
