Not paying for prescribed food that is stated in policy as covered

I have only had this insurance for 2 months. I bought the most expensive plan that covers wellness. They are taking months to get rid of an exclusion of lacerations for my young dog because he had a small wound on his face that I declared. It was healed in 1 week-vet did not even suture just used glue to close. I sent them all the vet records they wanted and still no response except to say they need more time to review. The vets are amazed and certainly will not be recommending Nationwide. The older dog was put on a special diet for weight loss and even though the policy states prescription food is covered they are not paying -again claiming they need more time to review the vet records. Record I can read in minutes takes them months! As far as I am concerned this is fraud-refusing to pay for items stated in the policy. Another blood test they have not paid for was 1 of the reasons I purchased the expensive insurance-the agent told me this would be covered under that policy and now they need months to review. I paid for these things assuming they would be paid and now I am stuck owing it. I am considering not paying my premium and just canceling and finding a more honest company!

No problems

I've submitted several claims covering routine veterinary charges for my puppy including neutering. Claims were easy to file online and response times from Nationwide was excellent.

As a new pet owner, I couldn't have asked for better service!

Nationwide has helped substantially with every single vet visit.

Nationwide has covered almost all costs for Polly after I met the deductible and has greatly helped ease my mind about my pet's health. Its incredibly relieving to know that should something happen, I can afford to get the best treatment for her.

Prompt, no hassle claim process

Our older cat's appetite decreased. Alarming because she lives for food and her littermate died 2 years ago of lymphoma after a symptom of decreased appetite. In the blink of an eye we had almost $6000 in tests and prescriptions. The claims were easy to make, were processed very quickly (before the lab test results were all back), and covered everything expected.
