Incredible Resource
Trupanion has been an incredible partner and lifesaving resource for my dog. We have utilized our plan more than we or they could have envisioned and they have always followed through with integrity, clear replies to questions, and timely reimbursements for covered costs. I would never go without pet insurance again and can't imagine a better experience than I've had with Trupanion.

Don’t fall for the manipulative marketing!
Pumpkin Pet Insurance is nothing but a logo and a website. I insured two cats at a very high premium price ($176/month). I drank their marketing Kool-aid instead of going with a proven company. So that's my fault. I submitted claims at the beginning of November for one cat. I received nothing except the same auto-generated email for WEEKS. When I called over a month later, the customer service rep investigated and told me that my claims were being sent for "audit" on December 16th. I was told that the audit process would take between 30-45 days. Called again in January: "we're waiting on medical records" (which had already been emailed in November.) Because I had to provide medical records from birth for a 13-yr old pet, I reached out to my pet's previous vet and uploaded 65 pages of medical records. Then I was reprimanded by a customer service supervisor for doing so: "we reach out to the vets." Just a delaying tactic. Called again in February: "we have to review these records." It's March. 99% of the claims were denied because vomiting and constipation are "pre-existing." (What cat doesn't vomit? Those are symptoms, not a disease.) But should it BECOME a disease, like lymphoma - even 10 years from now - and even after their supposed 180-day "recovery" time, they won't cover it. I wasted $90 in premiums EACH MONTH waiting for the claims to be denied- and THEY COUNT ON THAT. They do have someone monitoring their social media who will respond to this and to them I say, "your customer service is DREADFUL. If you are delaying claims FOR FOUR MONTHS (in my case) and they are going to "review," YOUR CUSTOMER IS ENTITLED TO KNOW THAT. In a timely manner. And not by dragging it out of you." Pet owners: use another company.

Trupanion pays our claims almost instantly!
We have all 3 of our dogs insured with Trupanion, at very little monthly cost. We are always amazed at how quickly their claims are paid. We frequently comment that insurance companies for humans could learn a lot from Trupanion!,

Who's job is it?
Odd that an insurance company doesn't contact the Veterinary office when they have health questions in order to pay a claim.. instead they drop it in your lap to get the answers so the claim can be denied or paid.. I'm doing lots of leg work to get our claim paid.. let's hope it does..

Very happy!
I am so thankful I chose Nationwide for pet insurance over the other brands. My pups have received tests, surgery, and procedures I never would have been able to afford without pets insurance. Before signing up for their services the representatives I spoke to made sure I understood what was covered and what wasn't. They clearly explained what pre-existing cinditions are and why preexisting conditions weren't covered so I knew what to expect and what services wouldn't be covered. Thank you!

Healthy paws is always there for me
It's always been so easy to submit a claim. The reimbursement rate is relatively quick. Quick. But not only do they do that part, they always reach out to see how your pet is doing. They're sorry to hear that he's sick or they're glad that he's made it to a surgery and that really makes it more than just an insurance company.
