It was a very informative experience. The only reason I didn’t give a 10 is that I was convinced to go with a smaller deductible while our dog is a puppy. It made sense but now we are paying much higher monthly rates. Catch 22 situation.

While she was kind I did not get any of the help I needed.
While she was kind, I did not get any of the help I needed. This I believe is a company wide problem. Taking money from pet parents, but not paying out when you really need it. Thanks Trupanion for denying me the insurance coverage to save my dogs life. I will never recommend this insurance.

Constantly high rate increase
Trupanion has some interesting wording choices that are very fishy to costumers. For example, saying that the rate doesn't increase when your pet ages could simply mean that the rate doesn't go up on my pet's birthday but it will definitely go up every year. Also having no limits for which % the rate can go up is very abusive, I had my rate go up 20% in the first year and 50% in the second year, for a matter of fact I had no claims at all and enrolled when my pet was 8 weeks old. Another misleading statement is saying that your pet won't be penalized for being "unlucky", but you get no benefits at all for having a "lucky" pet, you will still get a tremendously high rate increase. Quoting for an address change also increased the rate to 50% on top of the previous 50% increase, and the answer we receive is about "veterinary costs in that area" which is completely untrue since that new area has cheaper vet prices compared to the current area. In the past, I have recommended Trupanion to all my friends, which will no longer be the case, with abusive rate increases it's not affordable at all and could be a complete scam when your rate constantly increases on high percentages every year. If you're not ready to have your rate increasing randomly and unexpectedly every year do not get this insurance by the time your pet is 5 years and you can no longer afford paying for it you'd wish you didn't sign up for this bait and switch

Deductible too high
The deductible i paid for the recent incident was $700, which in my opinion, is much too high. Apparently, I could have reduced my deductible within 30 days of signing up to Trupanion, but i was unaware of this. Beware of the way too high deductibles!!!
