Honestly trupanion is a great insurance company (at least from what I’ve experienced so far).
Honestly, trupanion is a great insurance company (at least from what I’ve experienced so far). However, I find it to be ridiculous that owners cannot change their policies any time, like other insurance (auto, home, life, etc). A year ago we couldn’t afford the complimentary care rider on all 4 dogs, but we can now. So it’d be nice to have that ability to add the rider to the other 3 dogs. At any given point I can change my auto, home, and life insurance to fit my financial situation. The fact that trupanion doesn’t follow this same ideology is incredibly inconvenient. Anytime I talk to someone about Trupanion, I will always make sure to let them know to add every coverage and potentially drive themselves into financial ruin, at the time of insurance purchase, because otherwise they’ll be out of luck later on. Let’s add this onto the fact that insurance rates rise whenever you decide to do a market review, but that doesn’t come with any incentive like altering the coverage? Seems off putting to me, but I guess that’s the way it has to be. Please consider doing better for your clients. Thanks.

Great coverage. Love the direct billing.
Coverage was required for an emergency vet visit. Direct billing and the process was so easy. Of course I wish amount I have to pay out of pocket was less, but very pleased with the service.

If you are considering pet insurance, I would 100% recommend Trupanion. When my pet had to have emergency surgery on his knee, Trupanion made it easy and affordable. I did not have to make the insanely stressful decision to weigh my pets' quality of life against what financial resources I could muster.

Don't use them!
Trupanion nickle and dimes! I raised my deductible and was charged the difference at my next visit to the vet for a repeat issue. No other insurance company does this. If Trupanion didn't have my dogs knees stuck with this plan i would have dropped them a long time ago. They suck to be nice about it.

I pay a big monthly premium and lately haven't been getting any value out of it.
I pay a big monthly premium and lately haven't been getting any value out of it. I probably wouldn't go with Trupanion again if I get another pet, based on the last couple years. My dog is 13 years old and has been insured with Trupanion (and predecessor company) since he was a puppy. The first 5 or 6 years were great but now it's really expensive without value for money.
