175 dollars is the cheapest policy for ONE animal!! Had this policy since 2022 when it was 50 dollars for one animal, and got the highest deductible literally have never gotten any benefit or payout from them and have spent over 3 grand because the rates keep rising.

Great Experience!

We have had Healthy Paws Pet Insurance since our dog was just 8 weeks old. Aside from minor issues over the past 6½ years, she’s been incredibly healthy — until two weeks ago. I noticed a bright pink dot in the center of one of her rear teeth. A quick check suggested it could be a cracked tooth with visible pulp and possible abscess. Our family vet confirmed it was very likely an abscessed, cracked tooth with exposed pulp. We were able to get in with a canine dental specialist within 48 hours. The treatment required a triple root canal. We put down a $4,900 deposit the morning of the procedure and ultimately paid $5,200 out-of-pocket that day. It was stressful — both medically and financially — but everything went smoothly, and we brought our girl home that evening. I submitted the claim to Healthy Paws the next day. While I’ll be honest that my experience with phone customer service was not particularly helpful (I spoke to two representatives who referred me back to my policy for clarification), the email communication and claims process were excellent. Within 24 hours, I received an email requesting our primary vet’s information and health records, which were handled directly between Healthy Paws and our veterinarian. Within 48 hours, we received our Explanation of Benefits showing $4,500 of the $5,200 was covered. Another 48 hours later, the reimbursement was directly deposited into my bank account. We are extremely pleased with the coverage and the speed of reimbursement. When faced with a $5,000+ unexpected dental emergency, the insurance worked exactly as we hoped it would. We’ve since been contacted by other pet insurers, but based on our experience and long history with Healthy Paws, we plan to stay with them for the duration of our dog’s life. Highly recommend.

I would give 0 stars if I could

I would give 0 stars if I could. Fetch is a scam. My rates went up by hundreds of dollars each year even as I reduced coverage each year to try to lessen the blow. This fall they misinformed me about the cancellation policy when I called about my rates being raised exorbitantly. Then they were not able to help me cancel when I called before my policy renewed, then they lied about when I first called them and stole my money after I paid them thousands of dollars over the years without making any claims. Update 1: In their reply to my review they continue to lie. The initial call they are referring to was to discuss options which included me asking about cancellation policy (when I was misled about). I called again before the policy renewed to cancel but the person I reached told me they could not help me cancel because they were not authorized to help me cancel. Fetch refuses to give me transcripts/recordings of my calls. They've said feel free to call us anytime but they have stopped replying to my communication with them and also refused to give me a phone number/extension to reach a supervisor directly. Update 2: I received a refund after... -38 emails exchanged between myself and Fetch support -A failed BBB complaint -A failed CDI complaint In the end, I was able to remember and quote some lines from my first conversation with a Fetch representative that I found to be misleading. I requested a recording/transcript of the call several times, I was never given a transcript/recording. However after I remembered and shared the misleading quotes from the call, Fetch agreed to refund me.

They apparently cover NOTHING.

I've been paying this company $57/mo for over a year. Today we visited the vet for a broken, infected nail. My dog is feisty and we had to sedate him to work on it. While he was sedated, I told the vet to do any and everything she could think of that's easier since he's already out. Because she gave him his allergy shot, Trupanion denied an $800 vet bill because they don't cover "allergies". WTF?!?! I didn't go for allergies. We did it because was already being sedated and allergies have nothing to do with an ear infection or broken nail. Unless you're an underwriter for Trupanion. TOTAL RIP OFF!!!!! I will be appealing and sharing my experience with the world.

It is easy to submit claims. My only issue is that it hasn’t paid for itself over a year’s time.

Should have signed up years ago.

The coverage was easy to understand and gives you multiple options. Sign up was easy and I like that it is a payroll deduction so I don't have to worry about making another monthly payment. We just went through a very expensive health crisis with one of our other cats and we wish we would have had insurance.
