If you’re thinking about choosing Embrace for your pet insurance, I would strongly recommend looking at other options first. I paid a high monthly premium expecting support when my dog needed medical care the most. When my dog was diagnosed with pneumonia, Embrace classified it as a pre-existing condition and denied my claim. After months of paying for insurance, I received no reimbursement for my dog’s treatment. What makes this even more disappointing is that my dog has now passed away, and instead of receiving the support I expected during such a difficult time, I’ve been dealing with the added stress of denied claims and ongoing reimbursement issues while grieving the loss of my beloved pet. Pet insurance is supposed to provide peace of mind during emergencies, but my experience has been the opposite. Paying high premiums only to have claims denied when they matter most has been incredibly frustrating and heartbreaking. Based on my experience, I cannot recommend Embrace.

Quick turn around for reimbursement

Quick turn around for reimbursement. EoB clearly explains what is and isn’t covered based on your chosen policy. Rates increase every year, sometimes with increased deductibles. I wish there was a price lock.

If I could give 0 stars I would. It’s a complete waste of time and money.

If I could give 0 stars I would. This has been a complete scam, from the time I enrolled in March 2025 until now, end of May 2026. I have paid over $900 in premiums since I enrolled my pet. I have submitted 5 claims totaling just over $2,000 and ALL of my vet records. My vet's office also supplied all the records, which are very detailed, and go back 11 years. All of my claims were denied initially stating I hadn't provided the records. After ensuring they did have all records, I was told the claims would be reprocessed within 10 days. When I hadn't heard anything for over 30 days, I called customer service, and they confirmed I had provided everything needed and the man on the phone stated HE would personally ensure that ALL of my claims were reprocessed and he would contact me in 24-48 hours. That was 4 days ago. This morning I had an email stating I would hear from them in another 30 days. THIS IS UNACCEPTABLE. While I've been waiting on responses, I've been paying the premiums. My pet was NEVER covered under the insurance plan I've paid over $900 for to keep him safe and healthy. I've done my part 100%. ASPCA Pet insurance has NOT provided the services I've paid for. I've wasted so many hours of time on the phone or sending emails and records and I'm currently waiting on the phone AGAIN right now. DO NOT pay for this service. It is a total waste of money. And a complete waste of time, trying to get your calims paid or your money back. I have requested a refund and heard nothing back. I feel completely scammed. Updated June 15, 2026. ASPCA pet insurance still has not approved my claims or issued me a refund. At this point for my own sanity, I am just canceling the policy, even though I feel I was scammed out of $900 in insurance premiums. Don’t waste your time or money. Pet insurance is personal. We are trusting these companies to help us keep our pets healthy. I couldn’t be more disappointed by this company.

They will absolutely increase your…

They will absolutely increase your rates. They lie to your face saying they don't raise rates as your pet gets older, but they raise rates almost every year. They hide behind the spurious claim that they raise it based on cost of similar pet in similar area, which is just another way of saying we're raising rates as your pets are getting older. My pets insurance went up from about $80 on 2022 to $170 per month on 2026. That is more than 110% increase over 4 years, which is insane and way over inflation rates.

Doubled our rated without explanation

I went with Healthy Paws several years ago because of the mostly positive reviews, but I have been very disappointed with their customer service and billing. They just DOUBLED our monthly rate without getting approval and it was really hard to get answers about this on-line. Super frustrating experience

If I could give 0 stars I would

If I could give 0 stars I would. My monthly not only increased from 120 a month all the way to now 258 a month. For two cats. And even though I didn’t experience these issues before, what you guys have done lately is beyond words. In a really bad way. My cats have gotten their teeth cleaned for the past 3 yeas, while they were insured under Met Life, never had an issue with claims or refunds. But the last time which was well over a month and a half ago. They got their teeth cleaned and I submitted my claims right away. Tell me why is MAY 26th and I still haven’t received any money regardless of having called and spoken to multiple associates and representatives (MORE THAN 10 different people) they all said they would reach back out to me, which non did. Now here’s the thing. On my end it’s showing that claim as closed/solved&paid… guess what? I have not received any money. Despite speaking with multiple different people and them supposedly putting a note for the billing department to reissue the payment. The wait has become unbearable because we’re not talking about $25. We are talking almost $1000. So please be diligent and process my refund with urgency. This is a big amount of money and mostly in this economy. I am beyond disappointed and dissatisfied with this company and how you chose to deal with my claim. please solve this as a matter of urgency. I’ve contacted you guys over emails, that never get replied, through the app where I can never get a hold of a human as well as the phone which I’ve called and spoken with different individuals over 10 times. Thank you, I hope this can get resolved with a sense of URGENCY. Otherwise I will go bankrupt. I’m just a young responsible woman who’s never missed a payment and has been loyal to Met life for years in consecutive. Please HELP IS NEEDED WITH URGENCY REGARDING THIS MATTER.

The agent I spoke with was the most…

The agent I spoke with was the most arrogant and rude person i’ve ever spoke to. He won’t let me speak or ask questions the entirety of our phone call unless i talk over him. I went into report this to Sonnet immediately that i would like a different agent to deal with. I just renewed a policy with them yesterday but i don’t plan on staying with them anymore. I don’t the broker as well because I was given a cheaper offer on the website and he increased my premium to $50 more which was weird. Before the increase, he was giving me a quote which would have been a $70 difference and when I kept saying I received an email from Sonnet, he does not believe or acknowledge the fact I received the email. Definitely trying to scam me to get a higher premium. Would not recommend speaking to their insurance agents. If the website tells you the new renewal price, just lock it in. Don’t let an agent charge you a higher premium.

My policy was approved very quickly

My policy was approved very quickly, it was so much cheaper than my other policy I had previously. I did go through my company which is why it was so much cheaper.

Solid Options for Pet Owners

I’ve had ASPCA Pet Health Insurance for my Cat for over seven years, and overall my experience has been positive. The coverage helped significantly with emergency vet bills, and the claim submission process online was fairly simple. Reimbursements were not instant, but I usually received payment within a couple of weeks. What I like most is the broad coverage options, especially for accidents and illnesses. It gave me peace of mind knowing I wouldn’t have to make financial decisions during an emergency. Overall, I’d rate ASPCA Pet Health Insurance 4 out of 5 stars. It’s a solid option for pet owners looking for reliable protection, especially if you enroll your pet while they’re still young and healthy.
