Great Pet Coverage
Great pet insurance and so easy to manuver thru. My advice is to get the coverage of all three because you don’t know what your pet may need. The only regret I have was not getting my puppy full coverage. They are great at paying the claims pretty quickly. Within a week.

You changed my coverage after 12 years…
You changed my coverage after 12 years of being a loyal customer. I would like it back the way it was previously. This was due to a few claims that my pet had.I have paid my ever increasing insurance premiums without a complaint or hesitation. I always told fellow dog owners what good coverage I had. I guess that’s all changed now. I know there will be no response as there usually isn’t from large corporations. My policy went from 90% reimbursement with $100 deductible to 70% reimbursement with a $500 deductible. Raised my rates also but that is a minor complaint. You can complain all you want but nothing will change. It never does. Was a very good company until recently.

Five stars for insurance?!
Honestly never thought I'd be giving a five star review to an insurance company, but here we are! Our 8-year-old pup had to have TPLO surgery and the coverage/submission/claim process was easy breezy. I was shocked with how quickly we were reimbursed (literally 30 hours after the surgery), and it eased the financial stress significantly.

Not Paying for Office Visit in the case of an emergency
While I understand that Trupanion does not pay for the actual office visit, not paying for one in an emergency is unacceptable. What is the point of having the insurance if it does not cover emergency care? When you have a pet and you want pet insurance, there are a lot of options. I chose Trupanion because of the coverage. I used in when my other cat was ill and his visits were covered. Your coverage has changed and I find it difficult especially when rates have more than doubled in the last few years, with less coverage. My personal health insurance is less with better coverage than you offer for a cat. Unfortunately, I am stuck with this as he now has an existing condition.

Dubious business practice
In my opinion, shared online by many, charging an enrollment fee is disgusting. Disclosing it quietly only at the final moment before payment is sleazy. The charge is at best a nuisance fee, at worst price gouging. While you pay a full first-month premium you are only provided minimal coverage. Surely that covers so-called "set-up" costs. If this is how Furkin chooses to nickel-and-dime customers at the onset of a relationship, it raises serious concerns about how they will behave when it actually comes time to pay a claim. It's great that ethical businesses do not emulate this business practice. Imagine if the coffee shop down the street informs you there’s a “Drink Initiation Fee” to cover the cost of setting up your beverage relationship. “It’s a one-time charge,” they say reassuringly and we won't charge it again tomorrow. Ha!
