Absolutely Necessary

Getting pet insurance is not an expense that most people want to pay for. But my 2 year old Bernese Mountain Dog has had some health issues the past few months, that have resulted in $12k+ of vert bills since last October. If it wasn't for having Pet Plus Us, I don't think Lou would still be around! So I am very grateful. They are quick to return with a response, and quick to refund the money that I have had to pay up front. I would recommend to anyone!

Best pet insurance ever!

My beautiful baby, Moneypenny (10) had just visited my vet for a possible neck injury. She was sent home with A LOT of medication. She had a reaction and started vomiting and pooping blood! I took her to the emergency vet and she went to ICU for a few days then discharged. But, immediately it started happening again! Two more days ICU. Nearly $3k total in vet bills. Healthy Paws covered all the agreed procedures and medication. This is her fourth time with a $1000+ vet bill and they have come through with reimbursement within 72 hours of claim submission every time! They even emailed to ask how she’s doing. I’ll gladly keep paying!

Paying for the extras. Today, it's Proin & Apoquel

We use Pets Best insurance for our 5 year old Doberman. They have reimbursed us 90% for UTI visits & meds, Apoquel, Proin, Echocardiogram for shortness of breath when running., stool specimens, antibiotics, etc. We can swing the routine costs of having a dog, but we're grateful for the insurance to cover the extras after our $500 deductible. Highly recommend.

Peace of Mind

I encourage anyone who has a pet to get health insurance for them. Having Healthy Paws for both of my furbabies, past and present, has been tremendously helpful in critical times. Just with any insurance, you never want to have to use it but when the time comes and it’s needed you will thank yourself for being able to take the best possible care of your pet as possible. The customer service is amazing and being reimbursed is hassle free and quick. There is no other pet insurance I would trust more. I’ve been with Healthy Paws for the past 15 years with no regrets. Also, I love how they check in on your furbabies to see how their progress is when they have been seeing the vet repeatedly. I’m grateful to have found such a wonderful company and group of people.

How to avoid the scam

Awful truely awful. If you get the free 30 day trial. Don't do anything with it. Even though you will get coverage for hereditary issues. They won't pay for anything! Just there for your money. If you have to get this insurance. Do not take your dog the the vet of over a year, that is when the insurance actually kicks in. After a whole year of paying them you will likely get scammed saying how hereditary doesn't cover anything. Good luck take your pets else where and send this fake company straight downward!

Best Purchase for pet

I purchased Healthy Paws based on pamphlets from our Vet at his first exam. I have never had a claim denied ! They have paid promptly and even though the veterinarian fees are not covered nor vaccines, his medications and surgeries were paid promptly with no hassle! Two surgeries were over $5000 each. His meds are all covered which is great at $200 for some . Altogether, I would recommend Healthy Paws. You can pick your deductibles, copay’s according to your budget. They pay promptly and face it, things happen! I don’t know if I would have been able to afford this sweetheart of a dog his surgeries and meds without insurance

Good until they decide to discontinue your insurance and provide you with a new one that is triple the price and way less coverage

I've been a customer for over 7 years and suddenly and coincidently after my dog has been needing reimbursement for illnesses, they have discontinued my insurance and will only provide me with one that is 3x the price and with way less coverage. Before this change I was paying $50 a month for $1500 per illness/accident. Now they have offered me with $160 a month for $3000 max a year. I cannot change this plan without my dog's current conditions being excluded (what I need the insurance for). I cannot switch providers because my dog's current conditions will not be included. If I were to sign up with the same company for the first time I would pay $170 for $7500 yearly coverage. The kicker is that they knew in December that this was going to happen - before my dog's issues - but only told me in February, 1.5 months before I get to decide if I want to continue coverage. Needless to say, this experience has taught me that this is an insurance company. They are trying to make money, not trying to help me and my dog out.

Pleased and relieved for our wallets and cats! 😽😼😻😸

Saving money and much happier! My three adult cats have been on Nationwide for many years due to an employment discount, and we just got distributed a fourth from the universe — a six week-old kitten this time. Nationwide has actually been fine for us, but just fine. Customer service is great, but It's pricey for the coverage while not standing out as really having more benefits than others, so I was shopping around. We LOVE that the pet insurance umbrella debuted and is just as pleasant as our auto & renters experience that we've had for about ten years now. They have a 24/7 vet/nurse assistance line which is amazing, a multi-pet discount which is very fair, and a few different options for coverage that I was able to customize for each cat. My lazy senior has the illness-only plan. The other two (both 7) have both accident & illness, and our kitten has the accident & illness PLUS the BestWellness Routine Care reimbursement add-on. We've been easily reimbursed for neutering, vaccines, etc. We'd burned twice by two other orgs for our kitten, Tr*****on and Me***fe. T******** was a mess from day one, so again, we're extra happy with this outcome. Love you, PetsBest. Thank you! - K & A 🐾 Tommy, Maui, Newt, & Oliver

Very happy with MetLife Pet

We purchased what I designed to be "catastrophic" coverage for a young bully breed family member - 2500 ded., 90% unlimited afterward - for a very reasonable price. One ER visit and an allergy diagnosis later, we have exceeded the deductible and are receiving reimbursement. The claims upload process is easy, and our claims have been processed quickly, including a claim for boarding while his Mom was hospitalized and coverage for expensive hydrolyzed prescription food. Any questions/concerns we've had have been resolved by their customer reps, who are available 7 days a week. Getting coverage when our dog was young (7 months) avoided issues with preexisting conditions, as he had none at the time we purchased the policy (as documented in his adoption and wellness care vet notes). And I'm old enough to remember: "Get Met - It Pays" :-)
