Unsustainable
I first signed up for Healthy Paws around, if I recall correctly, 2012, with a late middle age to senior cat. They were fantastic for that cat, so I signed up subsequent pets when the pets were babies. Healthy Paws continued to be excellent from 2012 until about 2019. In addition to murderously expensive annual premium increases, they also have decreased the quality of their customer service. Their premium increases have made their insurance unsustainable and I am looking for options. Their customer service changes have also influenced me to look for other options. They used to be easy to contact, with very helpful and knowledgeable customer service representatives. The reimbursement process used to be lightening fast. The service felt very personal. In the last three or so years, they have become very difficult to contact, and the representatives usually are not especially knowledgeable or helpful. I thinknthey relocated their call centers. The reimbursements take a long time, now, too. I signed up my current pets in 2015 and 2016, when they were puppies or kittens. None of my pets had preexisting conditions and they have generally been very healthy. I feel like Healthy Paws is increasing the rates to an extreme degree. I'm very disappointed with them. I used to recommend them to everyone, but I can no longer do that. I would have to tell people to avoid Healthy Paws. It just isn't what it used to be.

What a Relief to Have Healthy Paws - and they care too!
We are so grateful we enrolled Barkely when he was a puppy. He's needed two CCL surgeries since then and we had only to worry about taking care of our pooch. The claim process was so easy and our claims were paid faster than the credit card bill came in. Healthy Paws even reached out to us to find out how Barkely was doing. What a small monthly price to pay for the piece of mind we have in knowing that financial issues will not get in the way of deciding what's best for Barkely!

Makes having insurance look like a breeze
Best insurance service out there!! When I first brought home Oso 3 years ago, we started with Trupanion. They were Ok. The only reason they were considered is because they work with vets direct so you don’t need to be reimbursed but the process is lengthy and prices are a bit high. I was paying about $90 and it didn’t have add ons. Lemonade came in and blew the prices out of the water and I have things such as vet visits and specialty treatments added for a fraction of that price. Oso was stung by a bee and had to be rushed to the vet! I was nervous for the outcome of the payment process since it was my first time filing a claim. Literally took less than 5 min and my claim was approved! They make being a dog parent more joyful than stressful. 1000% recommend lemonade for those who want a hassle free company!

Good coverage; Claim process confusing
I have had insurance with Trupanion for several years. Most of my experience has been very good. The only two things that I don't like are that the cost continues to rise every year and recently you've changed the portal for submitting claims to a method that is somewhat confusing and requires more, inefficient work on my part. Now, I have to enter the hospital, zip code and invoice number EVERY time I upload a receipt. Plus you don't have a specific way to provide details for a prescription, so I have entered the scrip # since there is no invoice # for a scrip.
