First Time Buying Pet Insurance

Having recently rescued a one-year-old Chihuahua mix from the shelter, I decided for the first time to buy pet insurance to cover any potential catastrophic problems. My first claim was a simple wellness check which cost $65 and I received $50 reimbursement within 48 hours. I am very impressed with PetsBest!

Easy and efficient

My dog recently had a 24 hour stay in the vet hospital for eating a foreign object and they worried about a possible obstruction. It was an expensive stay but the whole claiming process was very easy and fair. Our refund has already been deposited to our account. Thank you to the hospital and insurance for helping us when it was stressful.

PetsBest Saved Our Girl

Our girl Scout tore her ACL. Without PetsBest, our options would have been severely limited - have our girl live in unimaginable pain or go into debt by several thousand dollars. Thankfully, our girl is on her way to recovery and will live a long, pain-free life. We cannot thank PetsBest enough! I tell everyone to get pet insurance, specifically PetsBest.

Anna, the Mighty Galgo's Life Adventures- Pet's Best always has our back!

Anna is a petite Galga (Spanish Greyhound) with an outsized personality. We didn't set out to adopt her or her brother—instead, they became part of our family when my mom passed away three and a half years ago. From that moment on, my husband and I made a promise to give them the best life possible, just as my mom would have wanted. Last summer, we noticed what we thought was a benign fatty lump on Anna and scheduled a vet appointment right away. That visit marked the beginning of a stressful three-month journey. What was initially diagnosed as a stage 2 sarcoma turned out to be stage 3. Because of her slender greyhound leg, it took two surgeries to fully remove the tumor. Along the way, a specialist also diagnosed her with a heart condition, Mitral Valve Degeneration, that now requires ongoing monitoring. We carry accident and illness insurance for all four of our large dogs, since we're able to handle routine care ourselves. But Anna has certainly been the one with the most frequent—and costly—vet visits, due to ongoing monitoring for her cancer and heart condition, as well as a handful of other predicaments she's managed to get herself into. It's the unexpected expenses like these that make us so grateful for Pets Best. The coverage has lifted the burden of difficult financial decisions, allowing us to prioritize Anna's health and well-being. We are truly thankful.

Healthy Paws is always there when you need them

Healthy paws has helped me out multiple times with two different dogs. Their premiums aren’t cheap but neither is vet care, and when you need to run to the emergency vet and get emergency surgery for your loved one it’s great to know that no matter what Healthy Paws will have your back financially, allowing you to do what is best for your pet. Their claims process is straightforward and the processing times are fast. I highly recommend them to anyone with a pet!

Peace of mind

Our girl suddenly became sick recently with Cushing disease and diabetes. As you can imagine the bills have added up quickly! Without our insurance it would have been impossible to get her the care she needed. I’m so thankful I had the forethought to purchase it.

Everything is pre-existing to this company!

I’d used Petplan prior to Fetch buy-out/merger. My golden doodle needed a couple of teeth removed. Claim was paid. I continued getting my dog’s teeth cleaned but her teeth are just a problem. At one point years ago, the vet mentioned that she had signs of gingivitis. BECAUSE of that, she is now and forever considered to have pre-existing dental disease (even though in 2021 prior to that), she underwent dental surgery that was reimbursed by Petplan.. It’s as though they combed through every vet note they could find to make sure she can never be covered for dental surgery again. Their monthly coverage continues to increase without alerting the customer. This is so frustrating. Please don’t mention one word about a tremor or twitch. If they goes into the vet’s notes, your pet will forever have pre-existing everything.

Horrible, I don't recommend it to anyone.

I purchased this insurance in May 2025, paid for two full months, and when I finally needed it, it was absolutely useless. I spent $200 on routine veterinary exams that the policy clearly states are covered — but of course, they weren’t. Instead, I was asked to provide my pet’s entire medical history from over a year ago. I came from Brazil, where it’s not common for vets to keep such detailed records — we simply don’t have them. So, in the end, I paid PetBest (which is far from “best”) for two months of premiums and then had to pay another $200 out of pocket. Horrible, horrible service. I would never recommend this insurance to anyone. Insurance is supposed to help in times of need — not create more problems and bureaucracy. Now I’m trying to cancel a policy that never helped me and is still charging me through automatic debit — and guess what? There is NO option to cancel it on the website. Absolutely ridiculous.

I Love Healthy Paws

My dog broke a tooth as a puppy and needed to get it removed. She did a cleaning and xrays before the surgery. A lot of my bill was covered minus the cleaning itself. I was very pleased to have this experience. Having healthy paws really helps with my puppy's emergencies
