Best pet insurance
I cannot say enough about Healthy Paws. They have exceeded my expectations of a pet insurance. My Yorkie had a collapsed trachea last year and since that time, I have submitted over 30 claims for him. They have paid out for each one. The process is easy and the payments are usually quick. My premiums have not gone up through the roof either. They check in on him to see how he’s doing as they are aware that he will have a lifetime of medical needs. Best pet insurance.

Great service
Definitely has been worth the money, our dog has bad allergies and big eyes that the cat loves to swat at! Claims have always been processed super fast with no issues! I’d highly recommend!

DO NOT use HEALTHY PAWS pet insurance
This company is the worse. I had nothing bad to say about them until my dog actually needed their insurance. My dog is nearly 12 years old. I have used the insurance a couple of times for minor things (cut paw, etc.) for over 10 YEARS. My dog needed emergency surgery due to crystals that had formed in his bladder and plugged his urethra. He would have died without it. He had to stay in the ICU for 2 days and then 1 more day for observation. Everything cost approximately $6000. I have their 90% coverage and paid $600 for the service. I was very happy that I had the insurance and that they were easy to work with and reimbursed me quickly. I wasn't so happy when I received an email 6 weeks later telling me my monthly premium was increasing by more than TRIPLE what I had been paying. When I complained they sent me a canned email explaining how vet costs had increased in my area and it was necessary. I sucked it up and decided to stay with them, especially after paying them for over 10 years. A few months ago I was in CA with my dog and my dog became ill. We ended up going to an emergency vet because we couldn't get into any regular ones. The cost for treatment was around $1500. Healthy Paws reimbursed me with no problems. I came to the conclusion that I made the right decision to stick with them. However, today I received the EXACT SAME email that they sent me last year that vet expenses in my area had significantly increased and that my premium was going up another $100. The bottom line is that they're great to work with as long as you only need the insurance for MINOR problems. Now that my dog is a senior, I have come to the conclusion that they are trying to force me to cancel my account by making ridiculously huge increases to my premium. They know as a dog ages, they are going to start needing their insurance. I absolutely DO NOT RECOMMEND Healthy Paws.

Healthy Paws Has Been There for Us Every Time!
We signed up our dogs with Healthy Paws when they were puppies. One is now 8 1/2 years old and the other is almost 7 1/2 years old. We've had a few big veterinary expenses through the years--all mostly covered by Healthy Paws. Our rates have steadily increased over time and we came close to dropping the insurance late last year when my partner became unemployed. I am so glad we didn't! I took our younger dog to the ER on New Year's Eve, where he ended up (after lots of diagnostic imaging and lab tests) having a splenectomy. As you can imagine, the bill was huge. Since then, our dog has needed various follow-up exams and lab tests. All in all, we have racked up well over $10,000 in vet bills. Every claim I've submitted has been processed promptly, and Healthy Paws even reached out to see how our dog was doing. If we had not had the insurance, we would have a major credit card debt burden after all this. It's like any insurance--it seems like a waste of money until you need it. Now it's been a lifesaver for us. Also, if you've ever been in the position of having to say no to life saving/critical care for a beloved pet because you couldn't afford it, Healthy Paws can make that care possible. The only downside is that you do have to pay the charges up front and subsequently get reimbursed. I think most pet insurance companies work that way. There is a process available for getting advance approval for them to pay the veterinarian directly, but that doesn't help in an emergency or if the vet isn't willing to do that. Long story short, I highly recommend Healthy Paws!

Dental denial
Fetch (then Pet Plan) insurance purchased 2018. Vet report submitted and accepted said MILD tartar on canines. No further treatment required by vet. Paid ever increasing monthly amounts over the years (latest increase took the monthly bill to 165 per month) for 90% coverage on $2000 annual claim) Teeth removed in 2023 due to periodontal disease. Claim (for $1,200 after co pay) denied because they claimed she had pre existing condition. There was no pre existing diagnosis, or treatment plan. Please beware of this company. This review is less about the moderatly small amount of the claim, more the concern that they would not have the intregity to stand by their word in the event of a big claim that could be the difference between life and death.
