Great Pet Insurance

We have both of our pups on Pets Best. Affordable prices. Claims are normally processed within a few days. We've only had one month where it took three weeks for claims to be processed. The only thing that upsets me is prescription dog food isn't covered under any policy. With this being more expensive and only be able to purchase through a vet, I would think this would be a benefit that would be covered under the policy.

Healthy Paws for the win

Our 6-year-old dog has been insured with Healthy Paws since she was 3 months old, and it's been the best decision for our family. As she's gotten older, she has had TWO knee surgeries and costly new therapy with a veterinary neurologist. Healthy Paws processes claims quickly through their app or website, and they pay out quickly. Like many pet insurances, they don't cover pre-existing conditions, and they don't cover routine care like vaccines and stuff, but these major surgeries and our dog's other emergencies have more than paid for the insurance premiums over her lifetime so far. I've submitted many claims and have never once had to speak to a representative; that's how good their app is. Highly recommended.

Horrible insurance

I would give them 0 stars if that was an option... They put caps on all their coverage. So make sure you read what is covered and their wellness coverage is abhorrent even though they charge a premium for it

BEWARE of EMBRACE Pet Insurance

UPDATE: To reply to Embrace's generic chatgpt soulless response to my review - THIS IS HOW THIS COMPANY OPERATES... JAB Holdings Company owns Embrace and more than 12 other pet insurance companies. Their mission that they clearly outline on their website "JAB is committed to delivering superior long term compounding shareholder returns". They raise premiums because they want investors and themselves to profit... They hide behind inflation and other buzzwords. But make no mistake... they sit in a conference room and decide that their bank accounts are more important than the health of your pets! I wish i could give them zero stars. Embrace is just another morally bankrupt insurance company. If you are getting insurance when your pet is young to make sure they are covered throughout their life BEWARE. If anything happens to your pet, they will simply raise the premiums astronomically. I was a loyal customer for 14+ years with my two pets. I paid monthly for the past 14 years to ensure my pets were always taken care of as they grow older. Now that my pets are 12 and 14 - Embrace doesn't want anything to do with us. ZERO loyalty. Last year, my premium went up 40%, this year - it went up 83%. They blamed inflation and the fact that my pets are getting older... which I thought was the goal? To have pets that live long and healthy lives. I'm cancelling my insurance now and I wish I hadn't supported this company at all because now, I actually need insurance and they are fleeing from the scene. BEWARE of this company. I regret every recommending them to anyone. They care ONLY for shareholders.... not pets and certainly not pet parents.

200%+ rate increase, lower reimbursement rate

After being loyal customers for 9 years, the rates for my dog have gone up over 200%, and the deductible increased and reimbursement rate decreased. Extremely disappointing how healthy paws is punishing pet owners for their failure to plan for aging pets and making it unaffordable for those with elderly pets to get health insurance, because any other option will leave pre existing conditions uncovered.

I highly recommend Spot!

I purchased accident and illness insurance for my dog in 2024. I didn't have any claims that year. However, this year I have already filed 2 substantial claims. The first was for a cardiologist evaluation and EKG, totally over $1,000. Spot allow all of that claim and reimbursed me about $360 ($500 satisfied my deductible and I received 80% of the remainder, as set forth in my insurance terms). The next claim was for a tooth extraction and dental cleaning for a total of over $1,600. Except for about $5 for "pet waste/taxes," Spot again allowed all the charges. I just got a check for about $1,330! (Numbers aren't precise but the refund is 80% of the allowable costs.) Filing claims is easy as is providing the additional information they may request. Both claims were paid within a couple of weeks. On 1 occasion, I had to reach out to their customer service and this too was a very favorable experience. While the premiums are high, the cost is offset if your pet has an accident or illness. I very much recommend Spot for your piece of mind!
