Nationwide is not on your side

Has been with Nationwide since my dog was a puppy. Have been paying $55 a month. Year one my puppy had a problem with her leg (ligament). Was told after the fact it was not covered first year. Now, that my dog is 5, tried to file a claim for well care and vaccinations ( i had a plan that is supposed to cover sick and wellness) c just to find out my plan had expired. When i called they told me that i have not paid for over a year although they had my current credit card on file and i was enrolled in automatic payments. They told me then my policy could not be reactivated and i had to re-apply. They requested my dog’s medical records in order to issue new policy, which i provided because i just had an annual checkup which I didn’t get reimbursed for. A week later got an email saying my dog was not eligible for coverage because her ALT was elevated ( liver enzymes), which my doctor told me we need not work about unless they are constantly elevated or keep going up. Nationwide is not on your side. I was so fed up with this, applied for another insurance and was immediately accepted for a lot less.

Poor customer experience when we need the most no help at all

In July 7th, I had a vet bill of $271, and despite not meeting the $300 threshold for the policy, I understood the situation and accepted that it wouldn't qualify for reimbursement. Unfortunately, in August, we had to use the insurance again, incurring a new bill that totaled over $500. When I submitted the claim for reimbursement, I was informed that due to the policy renewal, I would not receive any reimbursement. The policy's mechanism of resetting the claims threshold annually to zero feels unfair and has left me feeling deceived and let down. The fact that we pay over $800 per year for this insurance, hoping for support during times of need, only to receive no assistance when it matters the most, is truly disheartening. It feels like as customers, we are being let down by the insurance we trusted to protect our pets' well-being. Regrettably, this experience has led me to the decision of canceling my contract with Pet Fetch, as it no longer meets my expectations or provides the support I believed it would offer. Furthermore, I strongly advise others against using this insurance, given my unsatisfactory encounter. I sincerely hope that you take this feedback into consideration and use it to improve your services for other pet owners in the future.

Not Great

I have Nationwide Pet Insurance. I recently (July 2023) had to spend over $1,000 on my 17 yo cat. I got $200 back. I spend $117 a month on pet insurance. Not worth it. Planning on changing companies this month. Other insurance plans out there (even for a 17 yo cat!) that are comparable that let you pick deductible and how much you are reimbursed.

Compassionate Care

My elderly Bull Terrier needed a treatment plan focused on managing a chronic disease. Dr Greer listened. Together we developed a plan that allows my animal to be comfortable and enjoy his time remaining. I greatly appreciate Dr Greer and staff providing notes and paid receipt for services quickly. These documents are easily uploaded at Met Life My Pet's website. Met Life usually reimburses me from seven to ten business days. I will continue to be a customer, and should I adopt another dog, Met Life will again be my choice of pet insurance provider and Dr Greer my animal's doctor.

Best Pet Insurance any can find

I love and appreciate that routine procedures are covered. This insurance has truly been a blessing. I work in education and any teacher would know our salary sometimes cannot cover expensive pet insurance that only covers emergencies.
