Way too expensive to make it worth it

I’ve been with fetch for 4 years, with only one small claim for an accident. Fetch has consistently increased their premiums and this year they increased it by more than 50% from $79/month to nearly $130/month for my health 4 year old dog. They tried to justify their increase (inflation, my dogs age, dog breed, etc) but I found more than one provider with dramatically lower rates, leaving me no choice but to cancel my insurance and go with a competitor. It’s embarrassing that they think this is acceptable, and at this rate by next year I’d be paying more than $200/month. Get out before my dog actually needs insurance. You’re an embarrassment to pet insurance and it’s disgusting that you think it’s acceptable to rob people, not everyone can leave. For anyone else in my situation whose dogs don’t have medical conditions PetsPlusUs has never increased my premiums for my other dog and Furkin offers the same coverage for a much lower price.

Easy claims for diagnostic tests and treatments

It was such a relief having Healthy Paws Insurance when over the span of three weeks our cat needed multiple emergency vet visits with diagnostics tests and treatments for stomach issues and newly developed seizures. Being able to say yes to the recommended tests, treatments, and knowing we're doing everything possible for her was a silver lining on the stressful time. We're so glad we made the decision to get insurance when we adopted her a few years ago and would recommend doing so to any pet owner. And now having gone through the process with Healthy Paws we'd never choose anything else.

I am so glad I have Pets Best!

I have had other pet insurance companies in the past who did everything they could to avoid paying my claim. I have received a substantial amount of money from my insurance provider and actually sometimes wonder how they are making any money because my dog had a $3,000 claim for cancer surgery and I believe about 2/3 of that was paid by insurance. I was extremely happy and have also been very happy with the claim payments on my 1 year old puppy's wellness plan.

See what best for you and your dog

There is a spend down first before insurance even covers anything. Then if you don't have any history on the dog you insured you need to take them to the vet for a whole year before they will even think about covering the bill. I was told by the insurance just pay into it you never know once you meet the 500.00 and the vet has seen the dog enough then we will start to cover what insurance covers. So in other words I pay and pay insurance month and the vet bill until insurance said they will start to cover.

Bivvy Insurance

This review is for Bivvy. They had the best prices, fastest turnaround, helpful on--line or on phone. So easy and quick filing claims on line, had my money within a couple days. Unfortunately, they went out of business which is so sad. When they closed they suggested using Spot. My insurance with Bivvy was $14 a month, now because my dog has a preexisting condition they won't cover, but still want me to pay $123 a month! I know my dog is older and more prone to vet visits, so I expect his insurance to be more now. All the insurance companies I have received quotes from are close to $100 or over. I am on a fixed income and can't afford that much every month. My dog has Cushings, he has to have blood work every six months which is $365 each visit and his medicine is $138 a month. Maybe Bivvy went down because of so many costly claims and cheap prices, who know, but I sure will miss them. If anywhere out there knows where I can get decently priced insurance or a deal for seniors, please let me know. Hopefully you can comment to our posts.

So Glad I Chose Trupanion

For my prior pet, I had a different pet insurance carrier and they were OK, but payouts were small, slow and cumbersome to file. I asked the vet tech caring for my dog what insurance she recommended; she was very enthusiastic about Trupanion. That pet died some years ago, and when I got a new dog, I signed up for Trupanion. At the time, I thought they were a bit expensive and last year, I even considered dropping their insurance, as the premium increases a little yearly. Thank goodness I didn't! I took my dog to the vet earlier this year for tummy issues and it turned out it was Irritable Bowel Disease. He had to be referred to an internist, and testing was prolonged and very expensive. I would have had to go into debt to pay for it all, but Trupanion didn't just step up to the plate, they made the claims process so easy, and they reimbursed directly to my checking account, usually within just a few days of each claim. The contrast with my prior pet insurance was pretty dramatic. After this experience, I'm a Trupanion customer for life!

Very Good Experience

Our young pembroke welsh corgi developed a chronic gastrointestinal issue. She has had to have many tests and her treatment has been expensive. Healthy Paws has been excellent with extremely fast reimbursement for our expenses. We have been very happy with their service and reliability. They are a bit pricey but generally, you get what you pay for. This is a legitimate pet insurer. For unexpected health issues, pet insurance is a must for those who don't, or cannot, have the money socked away just in case.

PEST BEST

i have Pets Best since 8 weeks old, i have compared many insurance companies like all insurance they will not cover preexisting condition. They are good price and they included pay of office visit and rechecks which is great for sickness or illness and they have only a year deductible not by claim. if you need pet insurance then get when puppy most important dont wait till older. I never did pet insurance before but today there are some many companies out there but you really need to compare and read and watch. I have 90 percent pay back and 200 year ded and i pay 33.00 a month for a mixed breed. when you get into certain breeds they are more expensive also. Pet best have paid all my claims and rechecks and they pay within 2 weeks also. I AM GLAD I HAVE THEM. i dont do wellness plans it not worth it to me
