Best Decision I Ever Made
I have had 4 cats for the last 17 years. Sadly I have lost 3 (2 were bottle fed from the same litter) over the years and my last girl is 17 and going strong. Needless to say the medical bills have racked up over the years. Last year my job offered us discounted pet insurance through our benefits and it was the best choice I ever made. Issues have been resolved every time I have contacted them. They have covered every claim I have put in, including my boys final medical bills to my girls prescription food. Only complaints I have is that I wished this worked like human insurance because you don't always have it to lay out ahead of time. I wish you could pay your premium and pay co-pays. Only other complaint I have is that it has been taking over two weeks for the claims to be processed. Which I understand, especially now that they are adding companies in. Other then that I have had nothing but good experiences.
Highly recommend
I've had my Cavalier King Charles Spaniel insured with Healthy Paws since his puppyhood. He's had several accidents and illnesses and all claims were paid promptly. Easy claims and review process. Highly recommend.

Ridiculously long time to resolve a simple claim
Took a month to resolve a simple ER visit for a suspected ingestion of a toxic substance. I had to go back to the clinic 2 times for more “info”. Wasn’t reimbursed for anything as it was all applied to the deductible. Any money you save on claims will be gobbled up by Pets Best. A complete ripoff.
I company that not only goes above and beyond, they show that they care
I cannot express how satisfied I am with my experience with Healthy Paws insurance! I have 2 senior dogs with multiple health issues. Both pups have gone through various heath issues & surgeries over the past 5 yrs or so (seizures, spleen mass, cancer scare, diabetes, cataracts/blindness to name a few). Each time, Healthy Paws processed my claims within 1-3 business days (at most) and the reimbursement was in my checking account within 3-5 business days. If they have needed add'l info, they have contacted my vet themselves, which makes it seamless to me. Needless to say I have had numerous claims over the years and my premiums have only had a normal/expected yearly increase as they have a policy that incidents do not impact premiums. My monthly premiums are actually lower, sometimes far less, compared to my friend's premiums. During my pup's recent health issues, someone from Healthy Paws actually emailed me to express their sympathy for my pup's recent health issues and checking in to see how she is doing. I was very touched and could not believe an insurance company did this. Healthy Paws will absolutely be my pet insurance company for as long as I have pets. I highly recommend Healthy Paws!

Easy, but took long to process
This was my first time submitting a claim. It was easy to get the SOAP notes required from my vet, and inturn email everything to the claims dept. The time frame for claims is just a little long. Maybe it was because I had to send 12 months worth of notes and bills. Now that they have all that info, hopefully next time the process will be quicker. I was reimbursed what was expected.

My Healthy Katniss
They have been very easy to deal with and responsive. Rates are very fair. We had one major issue with our kitty and submitting claims and getting payouts were hassle-free. A must have for your fur babies.
Excellent and efficient two years in.
I had PetPlan/Fetch for 17 years or so and after they imploded switched to MetLife. I have had three young dogs covered by MetLife (including wellness), two of them since eight weeks and another I switched at around age five. MetLife has been very prompt at reimbursing and very good about reimbursing everything covered by the plan (read your policy!!!). The wellness plan has been a surprisingly great deal for us and seems to be the best of its kind in the industry. My five-year-old became very ill with lymphoma after a few months on the plan and they were still fantastic about covering the costs of her treatment and testing. They also covered an emergency visit ($1500) for extreme diarrhea and vomiting of one of my pups. Submitting claims is extremely easy. Reimbursement for straightforward, routine things like vaccines comes in about two business days, more elaborate issues can take up to two weeks in my experience. Submitting your vet's treatment notes yourself will speed the process along, but they will contact the vet and get the information if you do not. Policyholders have the ability to consult with a vet 24/7 through the app which can be super helpful if you need guidance on small things or to determine if you need to head to an emergency vet. We had only one issue with them and that was after my five-year-old died. I had had her and my pup on a "family plan" and when she died, I was not informed that the plan would be rewritten to a single plan, and thus I had to fulfill my deductible again. But overall, we have been extremely happy with MetLife, and highly recommend them if you have the ability to front payment for treatment until you are reimbursed..
Double knee surgery
I can't say more about Pets Best Insurance. They not only provided coverage for a genetic issue but they paid the claim within a week after submitting it. The app makes it super easy to submit claims. I am so happy with them that I convinced my aunt to get insurance for her pet. This is a great company. I am used to people insurance and thought they would pre approve the surgery. That gave me a little cause for concern, that there would be some loophole the company would find to not pay me, but I was completely wrong. They went above and beyond to get me reimbursed quickly.

Pet's Worst.
This is the worst pet insurance company I've ever worked with. It takes them literal MONTHS to process simple claims, and they deny every single one of them. I paid so much for insurance and never did get reimbursed for even one cent. Ever. Their rates are cheaper than some of the others, but that's because they don't pay out on claims. You're not saving any money by choosing Pet's "Best". Try Nationwide or Spot ... much better.

They used to be good, now they just rob you
I agree with other reviewers - Trupanion used to be great. Now they are ZERO STARS. I had them with my second furbbaby and never had a problem. I got them again with my third kid. I just realized that AFTER THE FIRST MONTH, Trupanion raised my premium (automatic deduction) $25 WITHOUT NOTICE AND MY CONSENT. I only realized this when they sent me a notification they would be raising my premium AGAIN THIS YEAR. I thought they were raising it $30, but it's actually $10 because THEY ALREADY RAISED IT $25 WITHOUT MY KNOWLEDGE!!! They want me to pay $85/month. FOR A TWO YEAR OLD DOG. FOR NO OTHER REASON THAN GREED. We have NEVER FILED A CLAIM BEFORE. These people admit there is a PHONE RECORDING of our price conversation BUT REFUSE TO LET ME HEAR IT. I am considering suing them. By the way, this all started because of DR SMITH who wrote something in his medical report when he was 5 MONTHS OLD. He TWO AND WE'VE HAD NO ISSUES. DONT USE TRUPANION AND CATS AND DOGS IN LONG BEACH. PLEASE READ ALL BBB COMPLAINTS ABOUT THIS COMPANY. Please be sure to call your bank to BLOCK payments if and when you cancel because THEY DELAY CANCELLATION AND COLLECT YOUR MONEY.
