Very good pet health insurance!

Having had animals for years I fully appreciate the need of having pet insurance. Thus, in 2013, after adopting a couple of kittens I started shopping for pet insurance. I came across HealthyPaws, did my research and decided to give them a try. Premiums were reasonable. A few years later one of the kitties died accidentally. HealthyPaws sent me a sympathy card, hand signed by the employees. At about the same time my remaining cat started developing chronic UTIs and skin infections, necessitating treatment every 2 months. I submitted claims to HealthyPaws, via an in-phone app and was pleasantly surprised how eassy the whole process was, time and again. The claims were adjusted within hours and the check on the way within a couple of days. Simple, curtious and no drama. No questions asked. Just very recently my cat had a surgery to fix the issue of chronic infections. She had to be hospitalized for 10 days but recovered very nicely. HealthyPaws did not disappoint. The invoice was paid at 90% rate, check sent within days and a nice letter inquiring about kitty's health was just recently received. Amazingly nice and humane service. wish my health insurance was so reasonable and accommodating! Thank you HealthyPaws!

Best decision you can make for a furry family member.

This is the first pet I've ever had insurance for, and I'm glad I do. Our dog is part of our family and we want the best for him. Having this insurance has helped pay for his regular shots, prescription food, flea medications, much needed teeth cleaning, and other costs. If we didn't have the insurance it would have been a financial burden and we might have had to make some difficult choices about our dogs future. As he is getting older and is now requiring more consistent medications and veterinary visits, we are again so happy we chose to have insurance. Embrace is amazing with their very quick reimbursement. If I ever have questions or concerns regarding our claims or policy coverage, I can call or email and get a rapid response from a real live person. Embraces prices are reasonable and can fit any budget, since you can customize your coverage. I recommend embrace to anyone I can and will continue to do so. Keep up the great work!!!

Excellent Customer Service

I have always had a great time with Trupanion, from getting a free month at the start to having the ease of direct billing. What set them apart was the great customer service I experienced. They were personable, professional, and made me feel like they cared about my request even though it was small. Also my wait was short and having the service open 24/7 helps with my very busy schedule.

Good company but needs to review their procedures if a client has a wellness plan for their pet!

I have spoken to your staff several times and find them quite knowledgeable and courteous. My only complaint is that since I have a wellness plan with my Vet here in Florida, all of Maggie's visits, shots, etc. are covered under that plan and they do not charge me additional monies. This means that I cannot use what would have been the actual costs toward my deductible with you. I am being penalized for having a wellness plan!!

Is Trupanion Reliable Coverage? Their Rates Increase Yearly!

I have had Trupanion coverage for about 15 years. When I started out they were fantastic about claim coverage for my pets and their fee's were reasonable. There are pro's as they have evolved, quick reinbursement, easy for my vet to submit directly for payment, uploading invoice via their app etc. However, as our relationship with Trupanion has progressed, my rates have gone up steadily each year, about $5 per per pet per month. The claims are now picked apart, divided into multiple issues so you are paying your deductable for each issue, even if problems are related or diagnosis is still underway by your vet. We took our commatose dog to our vet at 5pm he was unresponsive, they could not care for him overnight, they did not have 24 hour care, he was transfered to overnight care, then in the morning transfered again to specialist for diagnosis. Each veternarian facility we paid our deductible again, as well as the "office visit", even though he had been transfered for the same issue the entire time. Each invoice has a new claim number even if it's all related to the same problem creating issues on payment becasue they do not throughly go through the notes to see if its an exsisting claim. They tell you once you sumbit the invoice if they have further questions they will contact the vet, NOT TRUE. They process as new deduct deductibles and "office" fees, if you have to appeal the case its painstakingly difficult. The follow up is terrible and you will be responsible to contact your vet for the necessary vet notes etc dispite their stating they will. We currently still have a claim in "appeal/review" since September, dispite my intervening and following up with both Trupanion and our treating vet, making sure Trupanion had all the details they needed to resolve. Their follow up is minimal with you. Bottom line, Trupanion does provide good coverage but over the years has nickle and dimed us for all they can, our rates have constantly gone up and their customer service and resolution is minimal at best with a few exceptions! You are better off going to a specialist with multiple capabilities opposed to going to your primary vet. Even if you are referred for further testing each facility you will have to pay their "evaluation" fee regardless your vet has sent you there for continued care. At this point we cannont change insurance for our one beloved dog as he will now have preexisiting issues/conditions for new pet insurance, but are in the process of seeking other coverage for our other pets and will not be back. Its sad Trupanion has raped us with constant coverage manipulation and yearly increases.

I am so happy I signed my fur babies up for this insurance plan.

Over the years I have looked into pet insurance but the plans were never clear cut and working in the medical field that made me nervous. When my vet told me about Nationwide Pet Insurance I went online to read more and was very impressed. I signed up my kittens right away. When the plan really turned out to be everything that their website said I signed up my dogs as well. I don't mind spending the money every month because I love knowing that in the event of an emergency my fur babies and my pocket book are safe.

Stanley is feeling much better!

The insurance is THE BEST! I never worry about the cost of taking our dog to the vet, hospital, etc. We have never had an issue receiving our reimbursement. 100% worth the cost of the insurance!

Lifesaver

Although my pug was very healthy when young (before his 8th birthday) now he has constant medical issues. I got nationwide insurance 2 years ago and was the best decision I made. I do not hesitate to take my dog to the vet for any illness. Without insurance I would have to think if I had the funds available to treat him. My baby deserves the best and Nationwide is the best insurance I could get

Good benefits but refund process is crazy

The price of the policy is good, and the benefits and reimbursement are great as well, but the process of submitting a claim is crazy. One claim took 3 months of review before telling me that they would deny it because it was a pre-existing condition...which it wasn't. It was an infection and I submitted all vet records stating it was an infection and had nothing to do with any pre-existingconditikns she had. Another claim took 2 months to process. The process time is crazy...they say it will take up to 30 days but it takes way longer and then you have to fight them to prove that the claim is legit, which is annoying given you have provided them with detailed vet records. So overall, price and benefits are great, the claims review and submission process is a giant headache.
