Constant Premium Increases
I was excited when I signed up, stupidly thinking that the premiums would be somewhat fixed, but the 2018-2019 increases were double what I was paying and triple what I signed up for. I don’t want to use the term “bait and switch” because it’s not exactly that, but close enough for me to type it here. I made one claim in 3 years for about $100 because my vet is so affordable, yet I am told vet rates in my area are increasing, justifying huge increases. Self insure. Put some money aside.

Love this insurance
I would gladly pay $100 a month, per dog, and hope to never need to use this insurance. Since that is not the case I must say the coverage this insurance has for major medical is amazing and the turnaround time on payments works for me. I’m lucky in that my vet does the paperwork and submits the expenses directly to the company. This probably cuts down on payment turnaround time. Almost always I have reimbursement within 2-3 weeks.

Trupanion is the best!
Trupanion is great. Policy is clear and easy to understand, claims service is exceptional, and coverage even for older pets is affordable. I wouldn’t be without it.

Trupanion has been there
Trupanion has been there through 2 ACL repairs for one of my dogs and a herniated disc for the other dog. The money spent monthly has been returned in the maintenance and health services for my two dogs.

The premium may be expensive
The premium may be expensive but when it comes to service, you get what Trupanion pays for. Direct pay to the vet was awesome as I was looking at an almost $2k bill
