Appreciate the speedy response
We received the check within days of submitting the claim. We appreciate the speedy response. Do think the premium is way too high. It has increased so much over the last couple of years that we may have to drop it.

I found the deductibles very high. Considering the monthly cost of your plan etc. Wish they would cover more specialty food costs and long term meds

Trupanion has added peace of mind for my dog's on-going care
I had never used a pet insurance before, and this one was recommended when we adopted our 5 and ½ year old Springer. I applied and I have paid the premium every month. A few years later, my dog developed a urinary problem. After the lab tests and diagnosis, she was placed on regular medication. I was a bit nervous when I made my first claim, but anything related to that diagnosis was covered, minus our first and only deduction, at the 90% promised rate. The insurance has only gone up by pennies, one time. I feel so reassured that if she has anything else major happen to her, we will be protected. My dog is happy and healthy! I recommend Trupanion!

I am extremely pleased
Am I so extremely pleased and I can not thank Trupanion enough. Without having trupanion, it would have been so hard to treat my kitty. It was like taking a major weight of my shoulders. I recommend trupanion to almost everyone because you never know when something can happen

Health insurance should be regular for pets
Health insurance should be as regular for pets as it is for humans. The important thing however as it is private... that it doesn't drive up costs so much that it becomes unaffordable whether Trupanion has insurance or not.

Trupanion has been a lifesaver in the past and we are extremely happy to continue with them.
If not for Trupanion our dear pug Sadie would not have lived to the age she did. Knee surgery, eye surgery and finally degenerative myelopathy where ultimately she required a four wheel wheelchair were all affordable due to our Trupanion insurance. We have now adopted a two year old mixed breed dog (Ryder) and would not have any other insurance than Trupanion to care for his needs now and in the future.

Overall a Good Experience
I have had Embrace for our dog for a number of years now. Overall, the process has been good. I feel that submitting the info to them for reimbursement to be a little trying though. If the clinic you have isn't willing to login, print out forms and fill out their brief part, it is impossible. Conversely, if the front desk staff are incompetent, or if their fax doesn't go through despite getting confirmation that it did (they are archaic after all), you have to wait and stay on top of them to get the paperwork into them. Embrace makes it sound easier than it is to be reimbursed. Having said that, once they receive the required info, the process is quick and coverage good. I also wasn't aware (fine print perhaps?) that the price for your pet to be insured goes up A LOT over the years. I found out the hard way. But after much research beforehand, I still think they are one of the very few, good pet insurers around.

Relatively easy process but reimbursement takes a long time
Overall pretty happy with everything. Don't love that wellness visits are counted towards your deductable before reimbursement. If you only get necessary vaccines and the animal doesnt get sick or hurt you end up paying more for the added premium than what the vaccines cost themselves so it's a little double whammy. Also it always takes the maximum 1 month to process the claims. When I was with Pets Best they processed and paid out within 48 hours. Made a big difference I'd cash flow was low.

It’s very helpful to get financial help with the cost of vet bills. Especially when you have a sick dog!!!! It took about a month go get our money, but it was worth it!
