Terrible business, waste of money
I was sold an insurance plan for my pets based on lies (was told dental cleaning was included but they denied my claim and they didnt mention the dog coverage was less than cats' and that there was a $300 deductible) and then when I tried to cancel they wouldn't give me even a partial refund of the payment they JUST took out the day before (on a sunday). You have to call to cancel during business hours only. Garbage insurance, save your money and invest it instead, way smarter!

Healthy Paws Pet Insurance is extraordinary!
Healthy Paws Pet Insurance is EXCELLENT!!! I have been using it for years! Monthly rate is very reasonable!! My older dog has been having a serious health issue in last few months and Healthy Paws has been extraordinary in its reimbursements to me for some very expensive care! I am so so grateful that I discovered this insurance when I first got my pet!! I recommend it highly to anyone who has a loved pet!! Thank you Healthy Paws!!!

outrageous 250% premium hike to $320
Healthy Paws has been raising premiums at an alarming rate for years, way faster than the cost of vet care inflation which they originally promised to stick to. There was a class action against them in California that didn't go anywhere. We thought last year's hike was bad when they increased it by 25%. Once my dog turned 10 years old they increased it by 250%. Our premium is $320 a month now which is outrageous. It is as if they want us to cancel our policy. Now that our guy is old they don't want to care for him even though they've made plenty of money off of us for a decade. So much for being a loyal customer.

Did not appreciate how my monthly…
Did not appreciate how my monthly premiums increased drastically because MetLife decided to not carry the policy I had for my pet. There was no notification, explanation, no warning.

WILL NOT COVER LIGAMENTS in Accident Only
If I could give less than a star I certainly would. We have had this insurance and paid almost $500/year in premiums for the past five years, and when we finally went to use the insurance for the first time, they denied us like all the reviewers before us: they now consider ligaments illnesses. Yet they continue to sell the accident policy with the language that ligaments are covered (Our original policy even suggested they'd cover up to two! With accident only coverage!). That language is still in the accident only policy, yet they will decline your claim and state that these are now defined as an illness. We had a dog running healthily a week prior to his accident where he could no longer walk, and they will say that this "disease is intermittent and degenerative." BUYER BEWARE. They will find a way to reject your claim.

Met Life Pet Insurance
Met Life was a good choice for my German Shepherd. They do take awhile to reimburse you but they eventually do. Be aware that they also raise the premium each year for the coverage which can be problematic when your pet ages.
