There is a lot you do right and a lot of causes for concern.

I have been a loyal customer for years now and appreciate the ease of the process and I also appreciate the help with the hefty vet bills. However, I have noticed that for Carter I am basically giving away money since he rarely goes to the vet. I know I’m paying for the security, but it would be nice if maybe there would be a discount for pets that don’t utilize the policy. With my other dog though, he has had issues with bladder stones which is ongoing and the policy has been very helpful. In my case though I think it would be nice and easy to have both my dogs on the same policy rather than having two separate policies. I would also like to express my concern with the fact that I have to front the cost of the bill, I think it would be quite nice if I was able to be cut out of the payment process and just have you reimburse the vet directly so that I’m not waiting around on checks. Overall I have been satisfied with Nationwide and I have had wonderful experiences with customer service except for one time which I’ll chalk up to the agent just having a tough day. I am going to reconsider keeping Carter on a policy since he has rarely used the service, however if I could bundle my two pets together on the same policy that would change things for me. I would like to speak with someone further about my review if possible because I do enjoy open dialogue.

Very happy I took the insurance policy with you!

We are very pleased to took out the insurance on Nico. I am very impressed with the whole process and now, just received the email asking how Nico is feeling. I am happy to say he is doing great! We never really determined what was wrong with him that day. But he bounced right back after a day and a half. He is scheduled for neturing May 17. We love our vet and having the insurance makes it not such a financial burden. Very happy so far with Nationwide.

AMAZING

Healthy Paws is a great insurance company. If your considering owning a pet do yourself a favor and take out an insurance policy for the unknown accidents that can happen. And are costly. This is the second major surgery my pup needed and Healthy Paws took care of us and prioritized everything we needed.

Surprisingly Easy to Use and Makes Total Sense for Us

Despite the fact that we have a senior dog with a laundry list of pre-existing conditions, this plan has paid for itself and more. I can submit claims straight from my phone, which is huge. The hardest part is having to call my vet a couple of days after the visit to get the medical notes and it does usually take about 30 days to get the reimbursement, but so far I haven't had to argue about anything I've submitted. The only thing easier would be if Nationwide worked directly with my vet, but for the price I'm happy with the peace of mind it has provided us since we worry far less about how much the trips to the vet will cost.

I am very thankful for Nationwide!

I wasn't convinced that I needed to have insurance because to me it was a gamble and I didn't think I needed it. I decided to go ahead with it since Great Danes can have a lot of health issues. I am so thankful I did because it has helped out many times.

Increase in cost as the dogs age

I am disappointed to see the large increase in cost as the dogs age. It has been huge without much coverage. It has been every year and Maile is now six and has been healthy. Not much coverage paid. While I feel you are a very professional business, I will definitely shop around with my next dog. This is way too much for what you get.

Nationwide Pet Insurance is great!

I've had insurance for my dog Maya, and for a dog before Maya. The insurance enabled Maya to get expensive, but needed knee surgery. They pay promptly and fairly. I'm so glad I took this coverage.

Premium keeps increasing with zero claims so far on my almost 7 yrs old Bichon BOLOGNESE

Charlie's ( is a healthy pure bred Bichon BOLOGNESE ) premium keeps going up even though we never had to file any claims so far. When we first insured him, the premium was less than $19/mth. Now it has almost tripled. It is so unfair that healthy pets owners are punished for other sick and accident prone dogs. Healthy pets owners should be given a discount like good grades students that are given discounted premiums for their driving insurance.
