Claims need to be processed faster unlike competitors who refund in 2-3 business days.

Competitors are processing claims and reimbursements within 2-3 business days which with nationwide I have to wait 30 days. Also, prices are almost the same give or take a few dollars and don’t have a cap in the yearly coverage.

Disgruntled to satisfied

I'll be completely honest, prior to these two visits I was not happy with Nationwide and it's claims. I felt I wasn't getting back enough from what I was putting out each month. I was considering switching to a different pet insurance depending on the outcome of these visits. My wife and I were thrilled when we saw we would be getting back 90% for both visits and have decided to continue with Nationwide for the time being.

Prace of mind when vet expenses add up, and they do

After paying large vet bills with my first 2 dogs I invested in this insurance at the recommendation of a friend who has working dogs innher line of business. If you are looking for excellent coverage this plan os the best. Do it qhen you first get your pet and they are getting all their first shots.

Thank you Nationwide Pet Insurance

In the past with my other pooches, I’ve always expected to handle the expenses of their medical bills, like biting the bullet sort of, and this has devastated me in the past. When I started insuring my dogs, I never knew that somebody could help me; that now my dog is safe, it’s time to grow an ulcer about the medical bills which may I add , is always ginormous. So when I found out that Nationwide could help me pay for part of it, it was like a lifesaver jacket was thrown at me. THANK YOU Nationwide. My dogs are my children however weird that may sound but they are. So a heartfelt thank you!

Best investment

Peace of mind that you can't put a price tag on.

We're multi-year customers for our two dogs. The web interface is very easy to use and claims are processed quickly. It's great to know our dogs will never be denied the care they need due to expense. That peace of mind alone is worth participation.

Horrible claims experience

The claims experience was problematic and was obviously calibrated to not actually pay out for procedures that should have been covered. I ended up paying entirely out of pocket for a surgery despite my vet being very clear in the appeal that the procedure should have been classified differently. I’ve been paying for Trupanion’s service for years and never received a benefit and this was the last straw.

They suck

I submitted 4 claims from January to February, it took over 90 days for them to even review my claims. I called multiple times, and was told each time that they were “under review of medical records,” after another month passed, I called again to be told “we are waiting on your vet to send records they never received”. Meanwhile I called my vet and had proof they had sent everything in 2 months prior. I then got my records and emailed them myself. A week later, everything was denied due to “pre existing condition” for atopic dermatitis, when my dog had never been seen for atopic dermatitis. They also didn’t even take those claims as my $250 deductible, to then deduct that from an ER visit and only send me a check for $85, for a bill that was over $300. I immediately canceled my policy. This was the biggest waste of money. I’d suggest just putting money aside for your pet in case of an emergency instead of using this BS insurance.
