I have been with Petfirst/Metlife for many years. First off, the customer service is outstanding. If you call in, the representatives are helpful and kind. The communication about claims and what plan works best for you is wonderful. They don’t try to upsell you. The premiums are a little more expensive but I think it’s worth it for a quality product. Thanks to Petfirst/Metlife.

Scam insurance, very bad !!!
They say they cover one visit to the vet per year, some tests, and I was paying for this for three months and it didn't cover anything at all, even though my cat had several visits to the vet and I uploaded the documents and a few minutes later they canceled it and didn't cover anything. Then they said they would call me, but they never did. I called back and they told me it was being processed. Weeks went by and they never called. I ended up canceling because what I was really doing was giving away my money. Why pay for insurance if it doesn't cover what it says is included in the plan you pay for? It's just a scam. It only takes your money away. Money

Pet insurance is so picky!
I thought I would like MetLife pet insurance more than my previous provider because MetLife covers prescription food and doesn’t have access to maximum that they cover for each diagnosis but they make it so hard to get a claim covered. I work for a vet so I know the system, provide SOAP notes and all invoices. Every time I submit I claim I get an email a few days later saying they are missing the Soap notes I already sent in, or my invoice from an online retailer (that my vet told me to order from) doesn’t show the pets name on the invoice. When contacting the retailer they tell me there is no way for them to put the pets name on the invoice. This is unacceptable, it should enough that my pets records say it was prescribed or recommended and then they receive an invoice for it. I do not start a claim until I know I have all the required documents and then I am still asked for more.
