Denied Claims Until Consumer Reporter Got Involved
Healthy Paws used every delay tactic in the book to deny my dog's claims for life-threatening cancer. It took getting a consumer reporter from a major newspaper involved for them to cover the claims, as they should have from the beginning. The company says it makes its claims decisions based on the medical records. This is false. Healthy Paws had absolutely everything they needed in the medical records to cover my dog's claims, including the histopathology report and letters from her oncologist and surgeon. I tried for three weeks to get my claims adjuster on the phone, with no luck and no return phone calls. I finally gave up on that and requested a third-party review. The results from that review--which found in my favor--took nearly two months, and coincidentally were received the very same day that Healthy Paws was contacted by the consumer reporter. This case never should have gone to a third-party review in the first place, as the facts in the medical record were clear. Meanwhile, my dog's life and longevity have been put in danger by Healthy Paws' delays. The only reason I am giving more than one star is that they cover alternative treatments such as physical therapy and acupuncture. I cannot express how disappointed I am in this company.

ASPCA truly cares about the well being of my four-legged baby.
When we first got our dog, I wasn't sure whether to get pet insurance for him or not. ASPCA was recommended to us. Because of them, I don't ever hesitate to bring my dog to the vet. Also, when he was going through some medical issues, I was able to call them on the phone and they discussed with me what would be covered and what would not. More importantly, they discussed what would be in the best interest of my dog whether it would be covered or not. They have even called to check on him after receiving multiple claims for one incident. I would highly recommend them to anyone who is looking for pet insurance.

Wonderful service
I rescued a wonderful sweet dog who shortly thereafter was diagnosed with a venereal disease tumor that was so large it had started to bleed. So I started making claims against my insurance literally days after my policy was in force. Embrace has been fully responsive since day one, reimbursing my claims and even sending their best wishes to my pup. I am so grateful, and hope my (now cured) dog lives long enough for the company to more than recoup its costs.

Healthy Paws approved and paid the claim very quickly.
I submitted a claim for my 3 year old lab who ate something she wasn't supposed to--- unfortunately that's what labs do. :) I took her to the emergency vet hospital where she was initially treated with charcoal and then on iv fluids for 2 nights. I submitted a claim after she (thankfully) recovered and Healthy Paws paid it very quickly. Healthy Paws also followed up with an email (during a weekend) to see how she was doing. I am extremely impressed with both the claim process and the customer service follow-up.

GET THE RECORD STRAIGHT!
Clearly, you people don't know what you are doing! You sent me a lovely inquiry about Cooper's recent vet visit via email. The vet visit WAS NOT for Cooper, but, for my OREO, who passed away on 1/27/18. I have been with Nationwide (Veterinary Pet) for a very long time, before pet insurance became fashionable! I was always impressed with the service and speed of claim processing. This time, someone definitely dropped the ball and totally messed up 2 final claims which I had submitted for her and NOW THIS! Maybe Nationwide should either check their employee's work to ensure that these upsetting mistakes don't occur. I just lost my pet- to add MORE frustration and grief to the situation by receiving erroneous claim determinations and inquiries from Nationwide simply complicates things! More compassion definitely is warranted on your part!
