Best Investment I ever made

We got our American Labrador Retriever at 8 weeks from a breeder in MD. She's been the best, sweetest dog for our 3 kid household. Our vet recommended we get pet insurance just in case. I chose Healthy Paws based on good consumer reviews. Our lab, Tessa, at 2 1/2 , developed a terrible inner ear infection that rapidly turned into an abscess and meningitis. We rushed her to two different vets several times over a 48 hour period before we got an accurate diagnosis. She ultimately needed a total ear canal ablation procedure. Healthy Paws paid 80% of the cost of surgery and prescription drugs. Filing a claim was easy to do on-line, and they followed up with me to find out how she was doing. We were so stressed about our sweet dog's condition and how best to treat it, and having Healthy Paws insurance freed us to decide in consultation with our vet, how best to treat it without a huge worry about the cost. I can't recommend them enough. i never write reviews, but this time, I feel strongly that we were given excellent consumer service and compassion during a very difficult period.

Embrace not only worked with me, but also worked with the Pet Clinic too.

Embrace not only worked with me, but also worked with the Pet Clinic who's accounting department was uncooperative with me. I am impressed with Embrace who was able to resolve the Pet Clinic accounting department problems and find a work-around for future appointments if needed. As a Totally and Permanently Disabled Service Connected Navy Veteran who with the VA's help is a "VA Companion Dog". Our Embrace Insurance is Associated with "USAA" for insurance , and billed accordingly. Oh and Good News His Infected Eyes are by all appearances are CURED!

Great customer service and extremely friendly and caring.

The only reason my rating is an "8" and not a "10" is because of the time it takes to process a claim. My 1st claim took over a month to process and complete and the 2nd hasn't completed yet. Now with that being said, I want to point out the positive. When I originally purchased the coverage, I received a call to thank me for choosing them. And when my bulldog was extremely sick and I took her in for an emergency visit and treatment, as soon as they reviewed my claim I received a phone call following up to check if my bulldog was doing better and asked if there was anything they could do to assist further. They have a genuine sense of caring.

Don't pay claims

I have submitted 10 claims for 2 dogs over the past year. Their practice is to always decline. Customer service is slow and not responsive. I highly recommend going elsewhere

Error in billing and can NOT get them to correct!!

They have been overhear charging me for 1 year, now raising my rates with ZERO claims! I have been told on 3 occasions that they will correct issue and have someone contact me, but no one ever does, and they continue to charge me HIGHER rate!! I have spent countless hours on hold trying to reach them!! I am beyond frustrated!! I will be finding another insurance company!! Shame on them!!

Very good insurance to have but must be observant and proactive to responses and codes when putting claims through.

After having surgery for a broken leg my claim was payed based on only a splint and emergency visit. I had turned in all paperwork and the diagnosis code from vet and surgeon yet the claim first came back as only a splint being a diagnosis!!!!! that is not a diagnosis. I then spoke with claims and was told the process for requesting this claim to be reevaluated. Thankfully ,after reviewing this claim again the proper payment and diagnosis was approved. I am now very satisfied with Nationwide pet insurance whom I have had for many years with other pets and have even recommended to friends and customers as an RVT in the veterinary field.
