just put your money in an account

My experience is nothing but the idea that you were paying for insurance and when it comes time to actually have a concern, coverage denied. What a waste of putting money into peace of mind that you have pet insurance and when then time needed the most, you have nothing. The lady on the phone was very pleasant and sympathetic. Great phone skills but this goes beyond her control. We have an 11 year old boston terrier who was perfectly healthy, only to one day find a scratch on the lens of his eye, (long story made short) his eye needed to be removed. Deemed not accidental which I don't see how else a scratch to the cornea would happen that would happen, and easy for them to say not covered. Nothing else, that was it. At this point its not even about the money, its the principle in which they review and decide on coverage. How can you say something so simple is actually that complicated and wrap words around. I come from a world of customer service and I know if my customers were treated this way I would be out of a job. Save your money, put in to a seperate account and save hopefully for a rainy day that never comes.

Excellent Insurance

I am very pleased with Nationwide pet insurance. It saved my dog's life when he had a ruptured disc. If I hadn't had the insurance coverage, I would have had to put him down as he is a large dog, was in pain, and unable to walk without spine surgery. Nationwide paid at the promised 90% for thousands of dollars of surgery, therapy and hospitalization. Most recently, he had issues with pain which our vet thought to be related to his spine and/or neck. Nationwide paid for the MRIs that he needed. I tell everyone who I meet who has a pet that this is absolutely wonderful insurance and well worth considering. In fact, I have been so grateful for this excellent coverage that my house and cars are now insured by Nationwide. You can never be certain that you will need insurance coverage but, when you do, Nationwide is there to help.

Good job!

I think that Nationwide does a great job...but the ease of placing a claim could be better and the speed at which the claim is reviewed could be faster. Overall....I approve and appreciate the assistance with my dogs health coverage.

Love submitting my claims via app

I love the convenience of the app and submitting my claims. However, I bought prescription food from Chewy. Chewy validated my prescription but when I submitted my claim it was denied bc it wasn’t purchased directly from my vet. Now to counter and prove that my vet provided a script I have to snail mail or fax proof for a claim that was originally submitted electronically. It’s inconvenient and a bit backward. Why can’t I submit my supporting documentation electronically? A little frustrated bc my dog will continue to be on prescription food likely for the rest of his life. Will I have to do this each time I submit a claim ? I hope not. Sigh.

fast efficient service

I am always pleased with the fast, efficient, and caring service I get from Nationwide about my pet. The claims are easy to file and arrive on time. The reps can be counted on to help over the phone and steer you straight. They give important tips related to my choices of coverage. The staff is timely and knowledgable.

Thank you for taking care of Sasha!

I am very happy with Nationwide. I am unhappy that I have been told that her monthly medications are covered when I call customer service, but when I send in her claims, they are denied. I feel like that is very misleading. And I wish the claims were processed a little faster. Other than that, I am very happy with Nationwide Pet Insurance. Thank you for being there, "just in case".

I have always received wonderful service.
