Easy to submit a claim
I have had to submit several claims for my puppy. Some standard visits, one a sick visit. It is so easy to submit a claim online and I have always gotten a quick response and payment.

Seamus is doing very well after his surgery. I really appreciate that the reimbursement was good. It was extremely helpful to my family and helped us concentrate on his care. He had a very ugly looking cyst that was growing rapidly and getting very irregular. We were worried.

Not worth the money
My husband and I decided to try this since it was offered through his employer's insurance plan. Our dog has Separation Anxiety due to a previously crappy life in and out of dog shelters and bad homes. He is on a prescription through our vet for Clomicalm to treat his anxiety. We were not told beforehand about it being considered a pre-existing condition, and I was actually told in the beginning by a Nationwide customer service rep that his medications would be covered as long as it wasn't preventative (such as flea/tick or heartworm). After I go to the trouble to get my vet's office to send over the prescription for his Clomicalm to Nationwide, I follow up with them only to be told they wouldn't cover it because it was a pre-existing condition. While I understand the need to have this rule for human insurance policies, I think it's dumb that they are applying to a pet's policy. The policy also has a $250 deductible, which honestly, is roughly what my dog's yearly vet bills total anyway. This is sych a waste of money. This insurance is only good if your pet is undergoing some massive surgery for cancer or something (which, to be honest, is when you really need to make the decision to put the animal down anyway since they don't live as long as we humans do). My husband and I are canceling our policy.

Great company who really cares about your pets, and so friendly!
We have used nationwide pet insurance for the last several years for our dogs. I would never own another pet without having them insured. They are super friendly, super helpful, and very easy to deal with. It is a peace of mind knowing that your fur babies are insured, especially when those emergencies pop up. Nationwide has really come through and helped us out many times!

Dissappointing at best
With the claim of being associated with the ASPCA, I had high hopes for this insurance company. Unfortunately, 90% of my claims have were denied. My dog had an accident and injured his rear knee before coverage. They use that accident to lump most of my additional claims as a preexisting condition because of his knee injury. The dog is sick with a cold, well that is a previous condition, the dog got allergies during the coverage period, you guessed it, that is a preexisting condition. Do not waste your time or money with this insurance company.

courteous people vis email but very slow processing claims.
Immediate response when a claim is received by email which is good. But no communication for weeks unless I make contact. It seems like it’s taking a long time for claims to be processed.

Super easy to file and got reimbursed easily
Super easy to file a claim, no push back or anything unpleasant at all. I just attached the vet invoices and submitted on my phone, and waited a few days and my claim was processed without any difficulties.

Nationwide takes the stress out of worry if we are going to be able to afford the necessary care for our dog.
We are so very glad that we got Nationwide Insurance for our golden retriever, Bogey, when we first got him. We have had two other Goldens before him and both had extensive medical issues which costs thousands and thousands of dollars. We will do anything to be able to take care of our doggies to the best of our abilities. We decided, this time, to purchase pet insurance and Nationwide had the best coverage for the best monthly premium. Nationwide has been wonderful. Our vet submits our claims directly so we don't have to do any paperwork. Nationwide pays in a very quick manner. We are very pleased and so happy that we purchased Nationwide Pet Insurance. Thank you for all you do.
