Good pet coverage for a reasonable price
Jon Valdez went over all the variations and prices for coverage and was able to enroll my new little rescue with the policy I wanted (with his advice) for a reasonable monthly price. The process was very easy and Jon was patient, professional, and informative.

I got to talk to a real person relatively quickly, got the answer, and was on my way back to doing what I had to take care of in no time. My call had to do with my account and not our dog or a claim.

we purchased trupanion the day we rescued our pup as we knew of vets costs with our granddogs. initally the few conditions that arose were reimbursed without a problem. then over a year ago our dog exhibited lameness while on an extended vacation. we went to a specialist in area. that bill we were told was put to deductible for new condition. upon returning home we followed up with our vet for exam and the labs that the initial specialist recommended. this is where the issues started. despite it being the same lameness, the person i spoke to stated it was a new condition(which is was not) had to appeal several times for payment. despite out vet contacting trupanion. finally payment made on labs. followed up with a rehab vet here and again was told new condition(which is was not). this vet also contacted trupanion and i had to appeal this. asked to talk to a supervisor, which i was told was not possible as i was not a vet. appealed again and clarified that our dog would get monthly treatment(i paid for the extra clause for this from day). finally after appealing and trying to talk to people on phone we have consistent payment for the lameness. would have changed insurance when this all started, but they all have a waiting period and or clause on pre-existing. didn't want to take a chance as pup is going on 8yrs old now
