Straightforward and straight up
I've submitted two claims in the 6 months that I've had this pet insurance. They kept me updated about the status of the claims and within 30 days had accurately settled them. So far my experience has been nothing but positive.

So far-So good
After the first year of our dog’s life I realized I’d better get pet health insurance. He suffered from weird allergies and I read that Irish Wolfhounds can be prone to strange illnesses and early death. I chose ASPCA because the premiums seemed fair. I decided on paying a little extra for the 90% back. All I can say is that this company has been there for us every time he’s had weird lumps or hurt paws or infections. You see, having a 200 lbs. dog, vet bills are much much higher. There is at least 3 times the amount of medication needed. I don’t have the maintenance kind of insurance but this company has been there for us every time he’s been sick or injured. He will be 5 years old soon and I will never be without ASPCA.
Huck
This was the smoothest insurance claim ever! The app isn’t working right for me and the customer service I received was top notch. I was so stressed about sweet Huck (who is doing perfectly) and the ease of working with Lemonade made all the difference! Thank you!!
PPU Always Comes Through
We've been using PPU for several years. We have 13 pets (4 dogs and 9 cats), all have pet insurance with PPU. We have had a three major knee surgeries covered so far on our dogs/ Not once did I have an issue getting our claim covered. We have 80% coverage so the last $5500 operation in March 2024 cost us $1000 because they covered the remaining amount.
Exceeded my expectations
I recently used my pet insurance of 3 years for the first time for a large surgery my dog had. I was paid in 4 days. And 2 of those were a weekend. I don't know what I was expecting but it was easy and seamless. And very fast.

Claim Processing takes a while, slow to respond
Claim processing always takes minimum 2 weeks and sometimes more. They are fairly slow to reply to email as well when it’s about claims. So far they’ve been reimbursing claims as expected but it’s just a very long wait. Also sometimes the agent on the phone is just wrong. I’ve asked if I could submit a claim for a past policy, and they said I couldn’t. However that wasn’t true, so long as the claim is made within 90 days of service and the past policy was active during that service date, it should be accepted.

Excellent!
Extremely happy with the service provided by Health Paws Insurance!! They have always been very quick to process our claims. Most recently, our dog's surgery had a claim and funds processed within 48 hours. The business operations seem solid, and the team reached out to check in on my dog after surgery. Highly recommend!

Disaster from the Start
When we selected our policy, the writer made errors in what we selected for coverage. We called immediately and told it could not be changed that we would have to wait a year to make any changes or updates. Every claim we submitted was denied even though it was for our puppy and fell within the guidelines. We wanted full coverage and did not receive what we requested. I do not recommend based on lack of customer service,
