Long time client disappointed
In general, I have been very pleased with the Healthy Paws Insurance program. It is easy to file a claim and the claims are processed quickly. However, I recently had a claim denied and I am very disappointed that their plan refused to cover an expense. The iris in our dog's eye changed color. Her regular veterinarians were unable to diagnose the problem saying they had never seen anything like it. We were referred to a veterinary opthalmologist. It turns out that she had a tumor growing in her eye that had to be removed to relieve pressure and to determine if it was malignant. Healthy Paws refused to cover the initial appointment with the ophthalmologist as it was categorized as a "consultation". It doesn't seem appropriate for this to be denied, as the consultation was absolutely necessary for a diagnosis and for the dog's well-being.

I am not being reimbursed as often as I hoped
I was disappointed this time about an ear infection not being covered as a illness. It was not a condition for which she had been previously treated so I believed it would be covered. It was discovered at her annual checkup but was a new illness.

My dog got bronchitis
My dog got bronchitis, took him to the vet. He had xrays and was prescribed antibiotics. I sent the invoice to embrace and was reimbursed in less than a week. Thank you Embrace

Filed 2 claims first was settled within 7 days. Second is still pending In response to review second claim was quickly settled and full anticipated amount was received! They seem to be an excellent company sometimes just a little slow to negotiate their claims.

Very prompt response.
My invoices were sent to Spot on the same day and were combined by Spot so that I did not have to send each invoice individually. The response was very prompt, and I am awaiting my refund check. I will do a direct deposit next time. Spot is very easy to deal with, very professional and friendly.

Just slow and not the best insurance
Claim processing is rather slow. Customer service is rather slow. I should’ve done more research before signing up with them because now that I know there are definitely other insurance companies that are better and at this point I’m kind of stuck with them because another insurance company won’t cover anything that’s already been covered they can consider it pre-existing so my dog deals with allergies and if I go to a different insurance company, they won’t cover the allergy treatments now. But at least it is some insurance and it’s somewhat covered so at least I’m getting something back although at a delayed pace and not at a high rate.
