Choose another company for your puppy's insurance.
Filed multiple claims for ER visits for my 1 year old puppy that all took place within a week. It took them almost a to payout any claim at all and when they did, they barely covered it. To be exact, they paid 1/3 the expense at most. They found any reason possible to deny coverage of medications, office visits, etc. Not happy with this insurance at all.

Frustrating experience for one of our pets despite years of coverage
We’ve had MetLife Pet Insurance for our three pets for several years. Our dogs’ claims have been fairly standard, and the new website is an improvement that makes tracking submissions a little easier. Unfortunately, our experience with our cat has been extremely frustrating. Despite multiple veterinary evaluations confirming his issues are not chronic, MetLife continues to classify them as chronic and pre-existing to avoid coverage. We have not received reimbursement for any of his conditions and are now working with the California Department of Insurance to resolve the matter. MetLife has even gone as far as denying coverage for a medication that is not directly associated with the condition they labeled as chronic. MetLife can and should do better in providing fair and transparent coverage for pet parents who have medical documentation to support their claims.
