My first time to submit a claim

My first time to submit a claim, they send me emails to give me updates, reassuring me that they are working on my claim and due to Covid they are not able to expedite the process however, I think the whole process was still within a reasonable time. Over all I am a satisfied customer!

quick and efficient

I purchased pet insurance when we got our puppy 2 years ago. Recently, our now 2 year old dog fell really ill. We had to go through 3 days of testing and it was expensive. We were grateful that we had insurance and each day, after the testing, I uploaded the invoice, the vet uploaded the notes and very quickly I received confirmation that the claim was being reviewed. Within 24 hours of each claim (there were 4 in total) I received notification that the claim had been processed and all I need to do now is wait for the checks. What was a very stressful time was made a little easier by the ease of filing the insurance claims and knowing our policy would pay their portion.

Excellent insurance -- glad I have it!

I have had Healthy Paws pet insurance for my 2 cats and 2 dogs for the last 4 years. Sadly, one of my animals has had major health problems every year. Healthy Paws has been wonderful. It is easy to submit claims, a decision is made and payment sent within a week. The customer service is outstanding. On Friday the 13th my little dog Pretzel lost the use of her back legs due to a blown out disk in her back. The cost so far is more than $10,000 -- for ER treatment, spinal surgery and dog rehab. Healthy Paws has cheerfully paid 80% of the cost -- much more responsive and efficient than my Blue Cross people insurance!!

Sonnet definitely offers the lowest…

Sonnet definitely offers the lowest rates. Confusing when trying to add extras ( home/ pet insurance) don't understand why they would charge for multiple different dates and not make the consistency of ensuring insurance was coming out all on the same date. Calculate the difference between. Only real complaint for someone that has multiple different coverages. Other than that. Fast, easy to set up.

Love the app - easy to work with - making a claim though, is a nightmare

I love being able to update my information in the app. I bought a new car about a month ago, and I had my insurance documents changed over and had my old car deleted from my policy and had new paperwork to give to the bank, all in less than a minute. Absolutely phenomenal! Although I couldn’t r why my premium jumped even though it’s a small amount, nothing about the experience made me think twice. That being said, about two weeks later, I was rear-ended at a very low speed by another vehicle at a red light. I called the claims number to let them know that this occurred and provided them with all. In case I need to take my car in to get anything taken care of and get an estimate. It has been almost four weeks, and I have yet to hear back from an adjuster or anyone at Sonnet. Even though I was not at fault without that information or at least an estimate, I cannot file a police report if necessary. Although scratches appear superficial, the purpose of this was to make sure that my insurance was informed and that they could then direct how payment will be applied to fixing my vehicle if necessary as I was rear-ended at a complete stop at a red light. I welcome anyone to contact me and explain why it has taken so long to get even a call from an adjuster. My biggest concern is that, God forbid, this has been a severe accident where someone had been injured, or my car has been totalled or severely damaged; I would be waiting to this day to hear back from someone. In the meantime, what would I have done?

Great Online Experience, But Lack of Policy Innovation

Sonnet has an excellent online insurance experience. Compared to traditional brokers, Sonnet is easier, faster and simpler to buy and use. However, I have found them to be behind other insurance providers when it comes to their products and policies. For example, Sonnet doesn't offer a tracking device in their auto insurance to enable customers to pay based on their driving patterns. Nor have they offered discounts or policy relief for customers who have reduced their commutes to near zero during the pandemic. In my case, I have two cars, both insured with Sonnet. One vehicle has been barely used (under 2000 kms.) during the entire epidemic, yet the only way to really reduce my costs is to virtually remove all insurance (except for fire and theft). Their website says you can take such measures as raising your deductible, but this is nothing more than reduced coverage for reduced premiums, which is nothing new, nor is it helpful during these unusual circumstances - especially when other insurance companies have offered rate relief for people not using their vehicles. I should point out that we have both cars and our home insurance bundled with Sonnet, and have had no claims of any kind for well over 25 years. The net result is that Sonnet is not cheaper, nor necessarily even competitive on rates. The lesson for policy holders is, you need to shop around.
