Great Customer Service, Knowledge, and Empowerment!
This morning I reached out to Prudent Pet with some questions and looking for guidance. I am very new to pet insurance and little did I know what a massive research project this could really be. I worked with Monica this morning to understand the options that were available to me and she took the time to go through every part of the policy to make sure I understood. I went from really feeling lost in the process to feeling like I was ready to purchase a plan right there. I called her back to get my pup the coverage she needs just a few hours later. The service I received today has me looking forward to working with Prudent for all our insurance needs. Highly recommend.

Customizable Deductible is a Positive
My premiums have increased almost every year since I started with Trupanion. To save money, I called Trupanion to increase the deductible for each of my three dogs. I was able to reduce my monthly cost substantially as a result.

At first they give you a low price
At first they give you a low price, next month they withdraw double the price. Later the price becomes triple. And they just keep increasing; don't trust this company. I had a lot of experience with them.

We pay the highest premiums for the "wellness" plan that covers absolutely nothing!! All of the necessary vaccines aren't covered and what we end up paying out of pocket in addition to the premium is ridiculous

Avoid this company
Avoid this company, they are sketch AF. I had a quote in front of me for adding a second dog to my existing policy for $143, New dog $60.43 and existing dog $89.09. I was concerned because I recognized that my current monthly cost for my existing dog was $172, so I chatted with support. Shortly into my chat with the representative the rep is telling me that my price for my existing dog is showing $172 and a total of $230 for both dogs so I opened a second window and sure enough it was now showing this new price and $0 discount for multi dog. I don't know what this rep did behind the scenes but I find this to be very sketch and concerning. I screenshot both views... and then signed off on the lower price one. Sure enough when I looked at my account information the price reflected was the $230. The customer rep just chalked it up to the one quote was wrong and the other was right. My concern is, imagine how I would have felt had I not noticed this and contacted support before accepting. Would I have received the $143 price, did the rep do something behind the scenes to correct the quote once I reported the issue, I'll never know but I know had a month come and gone and I saw a draft on my bank account for nearly $100 more than what I approved I would have been pissed. Next issue, Pets Best recently got a new underwriter with more favorable pricing. However, existing customers can not take advantage of this without starting their policy over, meaning all grace periods are in effect and any pre-existing conditions are not covered - this means any condition that your pet may have been treated for under the prior policy would no longer be covered under the new policy because it's now pre-existing. I encourage you all to shop around, find a pet insurance provider that is more honest and transparent. I am now removing my new pet from this policy and will gladly shop around for a better price, even if my total is $230 between the two separate providers, I'd rather pay that than pay a company that won't honor a quote.
