My experience today was with customer service & web support. I spent quite a while on the phone with Alexis trying to get into my account to file a claim for my pet. She was very knowledgeable, made several adjustments & walked me through making adjustments myself. She was able to get everything fixed & I could successfully file claims again. She was extremely patient, well spoken & friendly. My experience is first class!

Worst experience I ever had with a pet insurance company. They will deem everything as pre-existing even if the medical history says the opposite. The phone reps know zilch about insurance in general and tell you a claims adjuster will get back to you in 10-15 and sometimes 30 days and then it takes 3-6 months for claims to be reviewed. They even said my dogs diarrhea was pre-existing! Please stay away from this horrific company. They will make you jump through impossible hoops and provide medical history that doesn’t exist. Don’t get me started on the orthopedic report card, that’s a joke. 6 month waiting period and NOTHING is covered unless you get the form filled out. Adjusters are a literal joke and just send you automated messages. Save up, have an emergency fund and pay out of pocket for your pets. Or waste your money on pet insurance like I did.

Pets Best has insured 2 dogs for me and my third dog in the near future.
Pets Best has insured 2 dogs for me, a Golden Retriever 2004-2014 and a Golden Doodle 2014-2023. I have absolutely no complaints, their service has been timely and thorough. In fact, I will receive a new Golden Doodle puppy the first week of May and will immediately have her insured through Pets Best. Thank you so much for your wonderful service. Mary Street

they didn't even cover my dog's medical visit. This company is disaster. And it takes more than a month to give you an answer about the refund. One of the worst decisions I've ever made.

Not bad but also not good
When claims are covered and you established your first claim (sending medical records for the previous year) they're great. Process is easy and you get your money fast. The issue is when there are problems, you need to call several departments, seems like no one reads the previous notes. I had a claim put on hold because they needed my dog's med records. My vet faxed them 3 times and they said they never got it. I had to drive over, had them print it, then email it to metlife. After all that, they claimed he had a pre-existing condition when the vet clearly stated he did not know the cause of the issue. I was told by an agent to submit an appeal, I did not need a veteran's signature for this issue. I got mail a month later that I needed the signature and that I used up 1 of 2 attempts at an appeal (which was not told to me earlier). I have since moved and I am not driving back to another city just to get this signature and was furious this was relayed by mail and not telephone or email. That said, if you work with the right person via customer service, they do help push your case to the claims department and try to help. The issue is this doesn't always work and you don't always get a response and everyone is confused or late on the information. They are supposed to cover vet visit costs (office fee), but because one diagnosis was pre-existing they refused to pay when all the other reasons for my visit were covered. Also, the pre-existing issue did not need a veterinarian so that fee should not have even been paired with the visit. Furthermore, the app shows you claim # but doesn't tell you which claim it was for or what the diagnosis was so it's difficult to track down what claim you want to look at. Overall it's great and fast when it works and the claim is covered. But when there are issues or problems, good luck with getting it fixed if at all.

I spoke with Tattianna Smith at Fetch by The Dodo Pet Insurance today. I feel compelled to write about my experience. I have been going through a very difficult month as my precious, darling cat, Tilly, has been quite ill. I needed to file claims for her hospitalizations, etc., and having had little sleep due to worry and staying with her in the hospital, my capacity to submit my claims is diminished. Tatiana stayed on the phone with me (as I intermittently burst into tears) and consoled me and patiently walked me through the steps for submission. Not only did she do that, she also sent messages to the 3 vets involved to make sure that all invoicing is received. This is customer service at it's very best! Truly above and beyond the call of duty. Additionally, I called back to find out how to give a review, and Tracy, who answered the phone was incredibly sweet and kind as I again became emotional.
